Tony, In my humble opinion I don't believe you can explain... this is one of those "you gotta try it to like it" kinda things. I think it's human nature to resist when people may think someone is preaching to them (not implying that you preach, just trying to make a point). I'll be honest, telling a snowmobiler that a hawk is better is liking telling a Arctic Cat rider that another brand of sled is better. It's an opinion, nothing more, nothing less, and unless they asked, they probably don't want to hear about it. My Hawk experiance came about without a hitch. Steve at B's Outback got me hooked when he offered to put together a demo ride, showed up in our neck of the woods and let us formulate our own opinions. Not one word about our couches we were riding or the fact we were 2 skiers. He said something like, "Ride it, I think your going to be impressed" and off we went.
I told my wife I would be home in a few hours, that I was just running over the hill to test ride some "Hawks". 10 hrs. later I was back home - telling her about the new thrill we just experianced. That was my opinion, but not the opinion of everyone there. That was last February - we own three Hawks today. I still ride my sleds - because I still like my sleds. But we have other options now... and that's a great thing. And when I'm out, I let anyone interested climb on the hawks and take it for a spin, but unless asked, I don't tell them why it's better or even if it is better. I simply use Steves line, "Ride it, I think you will be impressed." Just my 2 cents.
Happy Holidays to everyone.
