Two Wheel Kit Install Issues

This is my first two wheel kit install. I have pulled off the left outer wheel and cannot get the right outer wheel off. How do you get the OE 4 wheel kit off the sled?
I have a BDX two wheel kit but have heard there are better kits out there. Before I install this any one have input here?

if you don't have both bolts out of the shaft, or if you have just the one out and cannot get the other out , you need to use a small propane torch to heat the loctite and to free it up a bit, then use a punch around the same diameter or smaller of the shaft , and punch the shaft through!

Had the same problem installing my BD 2 wheel kit. Had to heat up and WD40 the one bolt. Reinstalled the other bolt that was already out as tight as I could and then cracked the bolt that would not come out first. The original bolt should then be easy to remove again. BD 2 wheel kit works great, once I had both bolts out it was a quick and easy install. Good luck

One wheel off

I have the left wheel off, the right wheel bolt spins the axle. Is this reverse threaded? You mention putting the bolt that came out back into the axle to get the other out.
Hope this works, I am looking forward to easier tipping of the sled when sidehilling and turning. If it works I will be doing this to the wifes M8.

Did you lossen your track adjusting bolts? Just push the axle out from the side the bolt is off.

Tighten the other bolt back in. try to remove both bolts together. It might take a few tries but you will get it. I have about 1100miles on my BDX kit. works great

if you have one side off that is all you need to take it apart. Make sure you have the tension off the track, and just pound the axle out to the side where the wheel is still on.

Spacer Cut

I had to hold the "wheel-less" end of the axle with a pare of vice grips and really crank the other bolt off of the axle. I have the axle out now. There are four black plastic spacers on the axle. The two outside are used for the set bolts for the track tensioner. These are now moved to the inside of the track rails for the 2 wheel setup. In order for the plastic spacer to be used I had to cut their length down so the axle would thread through the track rails, and the tensioner bolts would line up with the holes in the spacer to the axle.

Anyone else have to cut these spacers down?

Why does BDXtreme not tell you this in the kit is beyond me, or supply you with the new spacers. Nothing a hack saw could not take care of.

Now, how loose can your two rear bogi wheels be after installation?

Maybe I did it wrong but I just used the spacers that where in the middle all ready and moved the push bolts inside so they push on the inside. I did not even take anything apart I just loosed track 2. removed one bolt 3. used new axle and push old axle out. 4. Moved adjustment bolts inside 5. Tighten new axle bolts up. It has been this way for two year and 3800 miles and have not seen a problem. But like I said maybe not the right way.

Four Plastic Spacers

All four plastic spacers are the same size. Once I moved the track tensionors to the inside they would not align with the spacer holes to seat and the axle was not coming out the end of the spacers. In order to for the axle to come throught he spacer and through the track rail the spacer was about 1/2 inch too long.
Well, I cut them they seem to work, but one bogi wheel has a bit of play in it as I cut one spacer down about 1/8 inch too much. Sh*t, I am concerned I made some mistake here.

I am a little lost? The axle should be pretty close to flush with the rail there should be no reason to cut any spacers to achieve this. Pictures would help

You dont need to cut your spacers.Forward of your rear axle on the rails is a bar running from one rail to the other lossen it up then you are able to put your new axle kit in no problem. When you have it all put in then re tighten:face-icon-small-hap

I found it really pretty simple after looking at it for a while.

A pipe wrench held the old axle in place to get the second bolt out of it, then, as was mentioned earlier, I loosened several of the bolts up further on the rails so the rails could be spread apart a ways. The old axle came out and new one went in while I was spreading the rails apart. I didn't have to cut anything down and my wheels don't have any play.

Spacers turned around

I had the two inside spacers in facing the the wrong direction. I did loosen the rail bolt and this helped a ton. I will take some pics of the wrong way and then of the right way and post them here. Thanks for the input. Lesson learned. The wifes sled should be a cinch. Cheers.

Turning Spacers around No need to cut Spacers

These shots are the two wheel kit with the spacers in backwards.
Corrected spacer alignment the next task.
