Two strokes are not only staying they are going into cars!

I can see it now... "What do you mean I have to add oil? Don't you just change it every 30,000 miles?

Check this out, Guy is saying with this new two stroke technology that this motor will have 90% scavenging efficiency with less oil consumption than a four stroke!
Not sure how that's possible unless you NEVER have to add oil.....Between my truck, dad's truck and mom's car....none have ever needed a drop of oil added between oil changes from day one.

Unless they're counting oil changes as "consumption," in which case that's not particularily accurate IMO, as used oil is reusable/recyclable, whereas burned oil is "gone."

Sounds like buddy is living is dreamy dream land to me....

I know this is somewhat unrelated but then again it sorta is but what about those used oil heaters that burn old oil. How do they work and do the cause any issues with the enviroment????

They work great, our entire service shop is heated with one (car dealership). 5 bays, storage areas, parts and service storage and reception...good sized building. We get more used oil than the thing burns (it's actually quite efficient), so some still has to be trucked away and recycled, but the whole building has "free" heat. Initial cost scares some away, but once it's in you're set.

They consider it a two stroke since it is ported and fires on every stroke but they might have a new oilling system that oils the bottom end without using that oil as a top end lube so it wouldn't have to be burned.

toyota was going to put the orbital two strokes in their trucks...it was all a very strong go...i don;t know what happened...it was only about ten years back that it was to happen..high horsepower...low weight...low emmission...extremly low oil consumption..great fuel milage...very low maintenance costs...those were the headlines that was spouted back then
