Two New Happy Face Products

This new clutch cover is a direct replacement for the Polaris 6-1/4" diameter drive clutch. It dissipates heat at a much higher rate than the stock cover due to less mass and the large openings. It is 100 grams lighter that the stock cover also. We have installed a Oiled Bronze bushing so you will never have to replace it. We also have drilled and taped 1/4-20 holes around the entire perimeter to make balancing as easy as possible. To re-balance simply remove the set screws and start over with a clean slate.
We are currently testing this cover in Seven Devils- Idaho, Bend-Oregon and this weekend in Alpine - WY. We will have them up for sale on 02/25/2013.

Any problems removing the drive belt with that new primary cover? I know with the factory cover it is tight between the body plastic and the cover and difficult to squeeze the belt through.

Cool idea. Would love to see an adjustablility function added to the primary cover for adding a little or taking away a little preload on the primary spring. Would be cool for fine tuning rpms.

Wow I'd love to try out one of those primary covers on my sled! Can't even tell you how happy I've been with the driveshaft clamp on my sled, and my rentals that I bought them for. Quality is top notch from these guys everyone!!!

happy face

I just returned from a visit @ Happy Face MFG which is covert for aero space manufacturing. They have a full automated manufacturing operation.
Their products are top notch, extremly well engineered and purposely built.
I am looking for more sled products to come out of this company.
I hope to work with them on some new IQR and Pro builds in the near future.

I really like the idea of spring tension adjustability. That would be real handy to adjust your rpms in the field. If anyone could build it, these guys could. Nice stuff.

Issue number two. So I thought I had covered the web site updates for the clutch cover and the bumpers with our web master. What I thought was meant by covered and their version of covered are two different things entirely. So when you go to our site and cant find the two new products, I guess you only have one person to blame. Seems like I am guilty as charged once again. The site will be updated soon. :face-icon-small-con

Damn, thats slick. What would 100 grams lighter cover translate into fly weight requirements? Any change at all? Are you going to be doing something that will allow you to adjust your spring preload or adjust belt side clearance?

Also curious about the 100g Loss in weight on the clutch cover.

Quicker acceleration, throttle response?
I'd assume this could be similar to lighter pistons?
Little quicker spooling?

Just not sure what 100g translates to w/o trying it.

100 grams = 3.5 oz.

I wonder if the average guy could tell the difference. I love the look.

Great ideas for additions to the clutch cover. We have been looking at the overall cost vs the overall design along with function. We Balance clutches in house so sheave adjustment is set at the time of balance. However if you feel its a value add to this product we sure could consider a version with the adjuster.
We really appreciate all your input. Over time, your input regarding our product line will result in a product that better fits your needs. Thanks again to all of you who have commented. Keep them coming. :light:
