Two brakes, how do you hook them up??

Rekluse has a kit
It makes the rear brake reservoir a flooded reservoir. Check it out on line, then you will understand. I have some more imputed on this topic, but you need uderstand how the rekluse system works first.

Save weight and get rid of rear brake pedal and master.Run front master as your only brake.

I had a heck of a time getting mine to stay firm. It seemed like I never got a good bleed and yes, I tried from front to back, top to bottom, etc. it sounds like I wasn't the only one to have problems. I had a 2013 ktm 450 sxf. Was the master the problem? Do people use aftermarket levers to get a better brake feel/operation? I fought it ALL year. Do the new kits address this? Thx
Ps, I may have a spare lhrb rekluse setup if someone wants it. I never mounted it this summer and it's almost time to get the kit back on!

If I had to pick one the hand brake would probably work best, but I ride dirt bikes too and I was always trying to brake with my foot when we were racing around in the trees. If I gave it more time it probably would be fine. Dollar for dollar the right hand brake is the way to go. It sounds wrong, but something I'm on the brake and the throttle at the same time, but I can still do this with the hand brake. The rekluse brake kit was a gift to myself so I didn't have to train my brain and still able to use my right foot for balance on right hand side hills. That being said I found it better to retap the rekluse flooded reservoir to take the stock brake line bango bolt and use the stock right hand front brake reservoir. My buddies rekluse brake line popped off at the rekluse reservoir. You won't like the brake lever on the left side unless you have a rekluse clutch.

This kit is a really good way to go if you want a hand and foot operated rear brake. Last year I tried putting my mountainhorse brake on the left side like a sled. Thought it would be good to free up my right hand using the throttle. I also ditched the foot bake, so with the recluse clutch was left hand brake only. I don't know what my problem with my brain was, I could not get used to not trying to use the foot brake. Added the recluse kit so had both hand ant foot operated brake. Works really well too for summer single track riding.

My proceedure to fill and bleed the air out of the dual brake system. Do the foot pedal first with the brake line from the hand brake removed(remove it at the foot brake). Use the normal bleeding the brake procedure keeping the brake fluid as full as possible. Once this portion is free of air and has good brake feel reinstall the brake line from the hand brake. Leave the bango bolt loose (very loose). You want the air in the brake line to exit here. Fill the hand brake reservoir with brake fluid and air out at the loose bango bolt. Once the line is full of brake fluid and you are sure there isn't any air in the line tighten the bango bolt. Now bleed the brake system from the hand brake to the brake caliber. You should have good brake feel rate away. Be sure not to allow the reservoir to go empty and draw in air, but if you do loosen off the bango bolt on the fear reservoir again and bleed off the air. Resume the bleeding process.

I hope this makes sense and works for you. It's a little messy, but works every time for me.

PS: I have not read Rekluse's brake bleeding proceedure. Be sure both brake actuaters have good brake feel and are working correctly. If I need a disclaimer consider the previous state to be the disclaimer.

Takes a second to get used to riding without the rear. Im sure all of us have gone to slide the back end around on the kid first ride out of the season and absolutely shoved our foot into nowhere. But after a half day it all goes back to normal.

Always funny how some people can pick it up instantly and some guys have a total mental block on it!

I want to just get a line made to go from my front master to my rear master like the rekluse cap let's you and then make a short line from the foot brake master to the timbersled caliper. I need to see if I can drill and tap the foot caliper reservoir cap on my bike.

You can't do that. If you do the site glass will blow out when you apply the front hand brake lever. It might be OK a couple of times, but it will likely blow out when you need to be braking hard. That's they make flooded reservoirs and flooded reservoir kits.

you can not use check valves to make it work either.

Can you use a longer banjo bolt to connect the front line to the rear master cylinder where the rear line is connected? Kind of like a two line front brake setup on a street bike.....

NO
When you apply the rear brake it will also pressure up the front brake reservoir. And when you apply the front hand lever it will also pressure up the rear reservoir. If these ideas worked there would be no need for a flooded reservoir nor flood reservoir kits. Don't try and get creative with check valves either. It will only lock up your brakes. If you wanted to try something I would suggest making your own flooded rear brake reservoir insert.

For as long as I've been riding this machine I still catch myself stabbing the foot every so often and I've never been able to one or two finger a left mounted brake because the thought of pulling the clutch hot in a corner gives me the willies .

It makes about as much sense as that paragraph I just wrote trying to figure out what machine I'm babbling about , it's not a natural thing to do with out hesitating .

The brake on the Hawks is on the left and there has been a few times that split second hesitation made the braking a little bit more aggressive . Seriously thought about putting it on the right .

Makes about as much sense as switching the clutch and brake pedal in a vehicle .

I'm going to tap out the rekluse flooded reservoir insert to take a regular bango bolt and the use the OEM front brake master cylinder as my right hand brake and my foot brake.
