Twisted Polaris

Just curious if you thought about the use of a 90 degree hose to run the air filter externally for optimum air intake ?

I sure your not done heat taping yet either ? Mag side spark plug cap looks a bit exposed when the turbo gets hot as does the collant jug :D

nice install

Optimum, isn't this already optimum enough, I mean come on it is being built by the best turbo builder in the world. Although, I do think that running a air filter up and out of the top would be better for colder airflow. But if he would bring this thing to the norns on a deep powder day, then he should leave it under the hood.

Carry on wayword son lay your head to rest, don't you cry no more. That is my favorite song...getting pumped for the snow to fly!!!

Here is some pics from testing today. Throttle response is unreal, very snappy:D I could barely hold the camera still my hands were shaking so bad after I rode it:D There will be a heat shield added and a muffler added to the exhaust also.

Optimum to you & Optimum to a 2 me are different things....Also, when your in deep deep snow and your hood is covered with 6 inches of snow all day is another reason you want your air intake filter outside of the hood. Unless you like stopping every few minutes to wipe the snow off your hood so your motor/compressor cant get some air into its lungs.

AIR + FUEL = HP

Look at the Master Tuner! All I can say is WOW. Twisted Turbo's are the best!

This alter ego must be homo for Shain. Just give it up, you sound rediculous.

Nope!!! My wife just got mad at me for posting so much stuff about Shain and Twisted. Are you upset that I think he is the bomb and the best tuner? I can't wait until I get the money in two weeks to purchase that Twisted Kit for my M1200.

She thinks I am pathetic. And maybe to a point she is right, but After meeting Shain at BIS and seeing him be the 3rd or 4th person and the only 2 Stroke to pull the big monster chute, how could I not be a fan? I mean to tell you his sleds just flat run. Hopefully he will bring this Polaris to BIS this year. I would like to see it run. See you there Shain...going on a family vacation for two weeks. I will call you when I get back to order my turbo!!!!

as far as the turbo setup, Its really cool to see somebody stepping away from the standard sidemount setup and go a new direction, I imagine lag is pretty dang nill with that stub of a charge tube! looks to me like it will be quite the boondocker!! is this bad boy gonna be coming to cooke? I want to see it run.

I knew that my wife's Dragon 700 that has been sitting for two years was finally going to have a purpose

It's great to see "thinking outside the box"....

I'd like to see a cowl-draw airbox assy for the inlet to the turbo... actual duct work directly feeding the turbo and isolating the engine temps. Keep those charge temps down.

Is this a premix (oil/gas) setup or have you come up with some kind of a custom oil injection tank?

Kevlar pull cord on this thing? Something that will tolerate the proximity to the exhaust?

Any thought to a tunnel exhaust exit? I'm more of a boondocker than a point-n-shoot kind of a rider... the turbine exit seems to work best on less backpressure. Burying this thing in the snow on deep downhill turns or transitional throttle work in the deep trees would seem favor the exhaust with the least backpressure.

Plenty of room in there for the "ultra quiet muffler" as an option for those that want to get away from the loud exhaust on most of these sleds (like Me!!)

Heat from the turbo in that area does concern me… but I’m sure you’ll have it worked out.

The O2 sensor is for a gauge….Right? Not sure I’d want to rely on a wideband sensor in the 2 stroke oil to “close the loop”.

cold air intake would be easy on this. there is room to put the exaust where ever you want ,stock hole , side , or tunnel and have a quiet muffler, all of them will come with the quiet muffler where ever you want it to exit. the sled is premix we use the stock oil pump for the turbo oil. production has all ready started on these kits.

Thanks for the input guys. There will be some more refinements before this goes to a production level but the concept works very well. Cant wait to ride one on the snow.

Looks like you got that thing working pretty good...
Im only 14 so i have to ask what is the difference between a twisted turbo kit, against a regular turbo kit...

I'm not sure, the shorter charge tube is a plus but there seems to be a lot of trade offs for this one gain.

Looks like lots of different bracketry, relocation of oil and coolant tanks, limited access to engine (especially reeds), lots of underhood exhaust piping, and your turbo is sitting next to lots of heat sensitive parts.

There is definitly alot of thought going into this and props for taking a whole new direction to the 2 stroke turbo!!

This kit has the least amount of relocation of parts then any kit out there. The water bottle has not been moved only rebracketed. The chassis has had only 2 rivots and the oil injection bottle removed. The turbo has plenty of clearance around it for heat to disperse or if it needs to be sheild protected. No grinding or chassis mods at all.
