Going to Twisp & Winthrop after xmas. Starting to wonder if I should take ATVs instead of the sleds. How is it at Sweetgrass, Freezeout, Harts?

I can let you know as of tomorrow :D My buddy that lives there said the snow is decent once you get up into the hills a bit. I'm thinking we might hit McLeod in the morning. Harts Pass last I heard was good riding in the right spots, lots of avy danger though.

Information will be much appreciated.

Wondering about Liberty Bell as well. The views in that area on clear days are hard to beat.

I realize the avy danger for Harts and Liberty Bell are always a big concern - however, the cascades haven't had much snow in a week and essentially none predicted in the coming days

There was enough snow for trail rides and some minor off trail - watch out for those stumps and logs.

Rode out of Eight Mile to Sweetgrass, Hwy 20 to Washington Pass and Rainy Pass, Goat Creek to Sweetgrass, and Boulder to Freezeout Mtn/Twenty Mile

It was nice to get out - but not great snow conditions

I got a lot of battle scars from stumps/logs but there was some good riding to be had. Not the best snow conditions, but we found plenty of play spots near Sweetgrass, McCloud, etc. May have even seen you up there and not known it :D
