Turbo rt?

I was thinking about a new project am looking for input Starting with full carbon fiber chassis rt do i turbo the rt1000 motor if so what do i need to do ie. who makes a good turbo kit what motor work what kind of power will it still be a decent boondocker? or can you fit a turbo apex motor in this chassis without to much mod? Do you think the carbon fiber rt chassis with either turbo would handle better than building say a nypex? thanks for help.

im planning to turbo my sled this year, although im going somewhat cheap on my turbo, BUT it will get me up and running,

to my knowledge there is a kit out, from attitude industries, for like $7000 with 1 or 2 aerochargers??? cant remember,

alot of guys end up making up their own home kit for it, ive heard guys say that the 1000 is not very finicky when it comes to turbo'ing,

but what i do know, is if one makes a kit for it, your going to want a 3071 turbo atleast, preferably a 3082, because the 3082 is a "hybrid" turbo and has a bigger compressor so it will build boost sooner i am told, you weld up your stock exhaust pipe at the crimped seams,

you get a Dobeck performance box, senses boost and adjusts fuel accordingly (probably have to call them and ask about it) your going to need new domes and get the domes milled out, because apparently the stock ones are bad for creating pre-detonation,

ontop of all that you also should have a egt gauge to adjust your fueling or let you know when somethings going wrong, Also needing as thick of a base gasket as you can get to reduce compression,

i think i have covered most of it, atleast from what i do know, im told stock injectors and stuff that way are good for up to about 12 pounds boost

the RT is a sweet motor that i have a VERY soft spot for, but it needs some serisous love and attention to make it work properly turbo'd and be reliable. also, there are a lot of things attached to the motor that make it unreliable, electrical, etc.

as for the apex motor into an RT chassis, i did an T-rx1 motor(same as teh apex -fuel injection) into my RT 2 years ago and it fits, but definately takes some work and requires a fair bit of playing around with to get it comfortably in there, but it fits without to much trouble. as far as boondocking, they are still RATHER heavy when your done. its a bigg *** motor and theres no way around it and the RT chassis is by no means light.

what do you have to start with? PM me as these are 2 motors and chassis that im very fond of and trying to put them together is something i really love tryin to work with someone on.
