turbo oil?

I was thinking about using castrol oil. Has anybody ever tried running different type of oil in the turbo? I am referring to the turbo not the engine oil. I do run the castrol in the engine and it would jus make it easier if I only had to have one oil.

i know a lot of people use a synthetic oil like 0w-40 in their turbo to help spool up. the only worry with going to a 5w oil is maybe bursting seals on the turbo if it isnt warmed up properly before you romp on it. I dont know of anyone that runs castrol. I use mobil 1... i dont see any problem with running castrol as long as provides proper lubricity.

I personally am running amsoil interceptor 2 stroke oil. I know there is a potential of "coking" the bearing, but these turbos are designed to run lots of miles and I know my turbo will only get a few thousand before a rebuild, so I figured why not run what my sled runs in case I need to add some to the turbo oil, or some of the oil get ingested into the compressor side through a blown seal... This is my reasoning anyways...

I run 2 stroke oil in mine(same as I run in the sled). If anything I just change it a little more often than regular 4 stroke oil. No problems so far.

Mobil 1 0W-20. The turbo oil never gets that hot and the little pumps we use don't make that much pressure. The RPM of the turbo is super high, so light oil works better in my opinion.

No way I would use a 2 stroke oil designed to be burned in the engine to lube the turbo. We run automotive turbos in our sleds, why not use what turbo cars run?
