Turbo Oil Pressure Gauge?

Does anyone run a turbo oil pressure gauge? I'm worried about the pump burning out and cooking the turbo, I was thinking a 0-15psi fuel presure gauge might work?

Some of the kits that use an electric oil pump come with an oil pressure guage. The pump only produces about 10lbs pressure, so you should be good with a 0-15lb guage.

you can also put a piece of clear hose between the pump and turbo, that way you can always see if you are actually getting oil to the turbo

Dont waste your time putting another guage on your machine. Simply run a low pressure dual prong oil pressure switch to an idiot light on your dash. You can do the whole set up for about 10 bucks. Works awsome and you dont need to stare at another guage.

well i didnt have time to put a gauge on and my line blew off this weekend. My jet in the top of the turbo plugged up, and one of those crimp clamps blew off my oil pump that dosent have barbed fittings. now i'm looking for a oil filter i can run in line, I'm guessing a plastic one well melt? Also how long can a Dual Ball Bearing turbo run without oil? (just going down the trail no high boost) Even when the turbo was new it had end play as well as side to side is this normal? Any help would be really appreciated

Bearing turbos do feel a little loose when there cold, it will run for a ways with no oil going to it a journal bearing turbo wont. If it still spins freely it should be good. The preasure switch is a great idea, you can hook it up to the factory low oil light

oil Presure Guage

Push Turbo Kits come with one I sell the gauges with a t and line for 50 but you can build them they work great and love the peace of mind. Oil pumps #1 failure in 2 stroke turbo's.

I wonder if an in line fuel filter would work, If you have a gauge you should be able watch it enough and know if it is working just make sure the gauge is down stream from the filter.

Lucky you.

Filter is a good thing depending on the pump. Like BD it will go out if it gets any derby in it. I would think just a std clear filter would work and yes put gauge after filter.

what about a oil filter? the reason the line popped off was because the jet was plugged

Its a ovs tial kit, not sure what the pump is called but its just the one included in the kit. I was wondering about a fuel filter also but i was worried the plastic might melt, i was also worried that oil is alot thicker then fuel and it wouldnt flow fast enough. Heres the fuel filter i had my eye on http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RUS-645060/
Thanks for all your help so far.
