Just wondering how many guys with T-Nytro's kept them at 153????? and if so how are they? I know they'll be a little light on the nose:D
Cheers:beer;

They're fun to ride in the right snow conditions, but in the real deep stuff and on climbs...they just want to trench. I'm going 162 now!!

I've seen them in action, and they have severe wheely issues. Even the Apex on a stock skid 162 is just ridiculous, trying to go somewhere steep without the front end pointing at the sky.

Thanks for the responses. Don't crucify me for this but I was wondering if a guy put a 153" M-10 would that solve some or most of the wheelie problems?

The reason I ask is I'm not a huge hillclimber but I do like to do the odd long pull. The rest of the time I just like playing around in the meadows and picking lines through the trees.

Thanks for the input.:beer;:beer;

Your in the same boat as me. I'm running a Camo extream 156"x 15", timbersled skid non tipped up rails and the limiter strap sucked way up.I like to do a lot of tree riding and pull some big hills. I don't find the sled wheelies to bad, I can still out climb any of my two stroke buddies easily!!!

had mine boosted with a stock track for good part of last season.....very poor. stock track went over monster though!

I don't mind the 153. If you are climbing something steep and it starts to auger you could flip it over backwards. I am going to get a new suspension, probably a nextech. I am not sold on those long tracks. There are a bunch of guys that will argue with me. My buddies all have 162s. and I argue with them all the time. The drawbacks way out weight the benefits. I don't think there is a nickels worth of difference. the 151 & 153s turn out in tighter spots and have more track speed. They are more fun to jump and boondock. For what you say you like to do keep the 153 and get a new suspension. I had a 162 and hated it. I will admit the only sled I didn't mind it on was my buddies t-nytro.

It's all in your style of riding and the size/weight of the rider and machine. You make some valid points but as far as the track speed 330 HP has no problem turning a 162" track. In fact Dean @ Alpine Motorsports was telling me they were seeing virtually no drop in track speeds going from the 162 to the 174. Which leads me to believe there are other factors at play. IMO you are bottlenecking the HP with a 153 in the steep & deep. But if you aren't all about that kind of terrain then it doesn't matter much. :beer;

Like remmy said its all about what you do and how you ride. I had 2 162's and to be honest, im over it. Two sets of bent rails and twisted torque arms is enough for me. Im gonna try and make a 153 work and if not work back to a 144. Granted those were stock skids but i dont feel like spending $2000+ plus on a aftermarket skid to find out they bend in half too. Or, theres a possibility im just to hard on sh!t

Well we already know you're hard on chit. :D:beer;

I think that's where a 16" wide can come in nice. Guys can keep shorter skids for jumping but keep some of the flotation. Ski-doo got it right with that concept.

Remmy (or anyone else), would the Ski-doo 154x16 work? Or is that going to create more problems.........pitch, drivers etc?

e

I rode the stock 153 and skid for the last year turboed, it is a wheelie machine, I probobly could have made the stock skid work with a new rear shock, and just put a new camo 156x16on it, and it would have been better. But I just went with the 162. I will admit it is fun to wheelie all the time but it gets old when you actually want to climb something.

I love the 153, although I'm not trying to climb every vertical chute in sight; just takes a little more momentum and finesse to keep the front end down in the steep and deep.

that's actually one of the solutions darryl at racer's edge mentioned to do if you dont' want the m-10 or his setup. said he's seen some decent results with the skidoo skid.

Big track

Hey Prairie Dog, sounds like you may be like a lot of flatlanders. Love the deep and not too much steep. I have the stock 153 on my Tnytro with a camo extreme and will eventually change to some thing else but not likely anything longer. I think my sled will do more than I'm prepared to take on with it as it is. The longer track will be a negative if you are on any trails and like someone already said, those long rails will bend a little easier.
