Turbo Nytro Drivers

Are the nytro drivers holding up to the turbos. I've read that the Apex drivers needed changed if your running a turbo. What about the Nytro with MCXpress kit. We're putting a turbo on this weekend and are changing the track and skid out next week.

Clay: If you are changin out the track, I would get some Avid drivers in there while you are doing it. They are a big plus. On the Apex, there is no option. Have not ridden a Turbo Nytro, but I have about 100 miles on a Supercharged sled that RIPS! and have had no problems with the stock drivers. I am running a 162 Attack 20 track in the Hillclimb position, which hooks up hard, but I am going to put Avids on in a couple weeks just to be safe. The Nytro is easy to get the driveshaft out of, so why not do it while you have it down:beer;

Thanks Eric. That's what I needed to hear. How is the Supercharged Nytro running. We're doing the turbo for a friend and will probably do one for myself in the spring. I'd like to get some more info on SC. I think for our type of riding the SC may be a better bet. A little less power and NO lag.

I hope to have a more comparative analysis in a couple weeks. Boondocker just finished the turbo and a couple other companies will have theirs soon. I put some MC Xpress stuff on in the past and did not like the kits, so will probably stray away from that.

The SC has unreal bottom end. In fact it has too much and it needs to be controlled with a blowoff valve. This releases the boost at low RPM so you can keep the skis on the ground to steer. It has awesome bottom end in the trees, more than a modified M1000. On the top end it feels similar to a modded M1000 with a little extra. Not as much RIP as a turbo, but I have to have control, response, and durability where I ride. I also like the fact that if the SC takes a dump, I can just plug the stock wiring harness back in and ride home (like if a belt breaks, or a pully fails). The only bad thing is, that I know a stock Nytro will probably not climb out of the places the supercharger will get me in, but we'll see I guess.

It is a different ride (the Nytro) and I am still learing how to ride it, as I switch back and for the an M chassis on a daily basis.

I'll keep you posted.:beer;

A BOV releases boost pressure through a vacuum signal ie. close the throttle.....vacuum increases causing BOV to open and release boost pressure to prevent compressor stacking and boost pressure spikes. It won't do what you are describing.

I have a couple hundred turbo miles at 10# and no ratcheting, my track is not even tight. I have heard at 16# boost you have to keep the track pretty tight to avoid ratcheting.

162 Mav in hillclimb position :face-icon-small-win with a set of avids and their recommended track looseness, didn't experience any ratcheting at 16lbs. (But did have to hold on pretty hard) :eek:

RX FUN, what you just said is exactly what I am describing. If you chop the throttle the vacuum opens the valve to let the boost go. It makes the bottom end less jerky and uncontrollable. I might be describing it poorly, but without the blowoff valve the throttle chop and stab is a problem. I am not just guessing. I am riding.

Similar to a m1000 on top? How gay is that!! The m-sled chassis are so out dated how could you even compare!

"I put some MC Xpress stuff on in the past and did not like the kits, so will probably stray away from that"......... Have you tried a nytro mcx? Didn't you say you wanted "control, response, and durability where I ride. "???

50mm Tial BOV has been a proven winner. Try installing one of those. Let us know how it goes. Still skeptical on this end.

I also like the fact that if the SC takes a dump

It will take a dumb the second you take it out of the box, there fuggin junk !!

That company could'nt get there issues with the Apex figured after 2+ yrs, and now there selling more junk that isn't reliable and works when it wants too. Seems to be a few companies like this these days:eek::eek::eek:

come on Darko, tell us how you really feel....

I have a set from Mountian magic on my turbo nytro and they are screwed after 457km. Can t run the track tight enough to keep from ratcheting. The leading edge of the driver is warn down. The track is so tight it is like a spring board. WIll be calling them tommorow. Should have got avids.
