Turbo m5

I am wanting to build an m5 turbo but no kits out there so any one that can help with size of turbo and carb set up and where to get oil pump and tank for it

would be a great help

WHY??? the m6 at the least is a little better choice for this, efi, etc.imo

The 06 M5 was an EFI, and at least the M5 is lighter than the M8. The M6 is heaver than the M8. The only advantage to the M6 is more after market support. You might want to give Attitude Industries a call, they might be able to help is you get a box if yours is EFI.

The 06 was an EFI, I wasn't sure about the air cooled part but Babbits has parts for the heat exchangers and coolant reservoirs for the 06 M5 so I would say at least that model was liquid cooled.

M5

The "05 M5 is a carb. The '06 is efi. Both are liquid cooled and a small version of the modern lay down engine. They are however a non-powervalve engine as compared to the earlier upright 500s which have APV. The M5 is very light at about 445 lb. stock. A lot of the aftermarket items that fit the other M sleds will also work on the M5 so with a can and seat change plus a few other things the M5 can get down in the low 400s. You will not find a listing for a lightweight can for the M5 but one for an early M8 will bolt right up with a new flange gasket and a little tweeking. Nice little 500cc sled.

Talk to ovs. We have a 06 m5 and they had an areo charger that they figuered would work fine. It currently is ported and polished, with a pure logic box, boss noss system and can from turbo al. Sled is a wicked blast to ride and just have fun.

I rode an M5 all last year and it would be a blast with a turbo, even if you only made it into the 160's with the power and stayed with the 141 the thing would be a boondocking dream. Mine would hang with the longer tracks all day in the deep powder even with the 80 hp that they are rated for. They are a fun and light sled, I think it would be a cool sled but when you get right down to it, you can sell the M5 and pick up an M8 ( or a skidoo like me ) for cheaper then the average turbo install and be in the same hp range or higher and you would be more reliable.

Good luck
