So this is what you want to do. Stock gearing is a little low. But you do not want to over gear it. The turbo will have a reduction in torque and more then double the power on the top end. Its a little like riding a 2-stroke. On my bike I have geared it up about 15%. I run a 14t engine gear with a 16t jack shaft gear. In the chain case I run the stock 17t top and 20t bottom. With this I can still stop and start in 2nd gear. In 2nd gear with the 15% higher gearing it will pull almost double the track speed simply because it will rev so much higher then a stock bike will when there is a load on the track. When you get on a open hill you will be able to grab gears and it will pull near 60 mph track speed and it will fly. The problem is its got no back shift like a sled so if you get off the boost you will have to down shift then it looses all the speed you had built up. Not a problem ones you learn how to ride it.
There will be a video out soon on U-Tube that is a promotional video for Boondocker’s bike turbos. The video is of me and my KX 450. On it you will be able to see some of the maneuvers you can do with a turbo snow bike.
