Turbo current M8 or buy a new leftover?

I have a 2008 M8 sno pro 153 with about 4500 miles on the motor and chassis. I have a ton of money into extras, and the sled is set up to my liking chassis wise. Compression is good on both cylinders, and the sled has been running flawless. Chassis is straight. Brand new primary clutch, and secondary has about 1500 miles on it.

Do i dare bolt a pump gas turbo onto this thing without a top end rebuild?

Would it be a better option to find a 08 or 09 sled with fewer miles and turbo that?

Thoughts/opinions are greatly appreciated.

I would save the cash and just buy a kit for your 08 . I have a race gas 07 with a DD Lite and a PC and i wont upgrade . I already have an 8 ,when i upgraded i bought an 09 162 SP M1 and kept the 8 as a backup .

It will be a race gas sled also ,this summer. I would only buy a new sled to get the big mill . An M1 on pump gas will work over a 2010 M8 on 12 lbs. I would never go more than one year on a set of slugs on a turbo , change them just to be safe . And do your self a favor , buy a race gas kit to start with .

Pump gas on an 8 is lame .

id just buy a race kit for your 08 and rebuild the sled right away with aftermarket pistons and rods, do it right the first time or dont do it at all

Turbo or not?

Most of your upgrades are removable so I would probable look for an 09 hold over. This is why when you turbo you will be pushing you sled just a bit harder and certain thing are going to were eventually like stator wiring just odd ball stuff and you will end up blaming on turbo. Start fresh have a better experience.

Just my .02

This guy is a tool!!! put a non-reverse case dd in your sled, rebuild the top end, turbo it and let it buck. the long stroke lay down motor is awsome.
