Turbo a Hawk

is the pope catholic?

no, you got him mixed up with the dahli lama.

but seriously, i thought that was the reason why i saw so many turboed rx1s on youtube and no turboed bombardier 1000cc 2-strokes. and i assumed there would be issues with the reed valves, port timing, and crank lubrication.

but i never really understood how the crank gets lubricated in these semi and direct injection 2-strokes.

Boondocker M1000 Arctic Cat 2 stroke turbo= 537 horsepower on DynoTech's dyno.

putting a turbo on a 2-stroke can be done, but you had better know what the he** your doing and have the money to do frequent rebuilds. The technologies are getting better and they are more relieable than even say a few years ago but It's still not like a 4stroke in those terms.

Well spoken. EFI made the 2 and 4 stroke turbos viable for the weekend warrior-

My little brother lives in Sun Valley Idaho and he talked to a guy last winter that rode a boosted 800 hawk. The guy said it was hard as hell to ride. You either couldn't keep the front end down or get enough traction. If you leaned forward to keep the front down it just spun like crazy. If you moved back to get it to hook up it picked the front end off the ground.
