When you use a CR or VE tunnel do you run the stock cooler under the tunnel or just the running board coolers, stock front cooler, and rear cooler of the tunnel? Are those enough to remove the radiator or would you still have to get the coolers from mpi and run them as well. And will they fit on a CR or VE tunnel?

Email Chad @ CR. He can build it how you like. All of his "off the rack" tunnels run heat exchangers on the outer edges of the boards, and then a single or double pass U cooler on the rear. Runs cool, and no snow build up on the boards.

I believe VE tunnels are the same idea.

Thanks SKRaT. thats what i was thinking. Im leaning towards a VE cause i like the looks of them better. I want to remove the Radiator, just not sure if ill have to order another cooler besides the cooling of the VE tunnel as in the the rear u cooler and the Coolers on the boards plus the stock front cooler. It seems to be enough to me just wanting to know if anyone has actually ran it like this with any problems.

is indeed a nice lookin tunnel. I already bought one from Brad at Power Addictions. Thanks for the reply tho

Hey Phil,

Unlike the CR tunnel the VE tunnel is a 4 pass rear cooler and is huge compared to the CR. Just remember you will have a tougher time afixing a tunnel rack with the VE because the cooler takes up all the space under the tunnel. One alternative is to put your tunnel rack on then use 1/2 inch nylon spacers and drop your 4 place ucooler down from the tunnel. This will help even more with cooling because in effect you are doubling the surface area of the rear cooler. Just be sure not to drop it to far that anything would hit it. If you did this you could remove the radiator for sure with no worries. With that 3 inch track you wanna run you would have to remove the front cooler unless you are a great aluminum welder. If so you could cut it and move it forward an inch. Just make sure you can get at the oil filter if you do move it forward. You would also have to block off the hole on each side of the bulkhead where the stock cooler ran through. You then need to block off the hole on each side of the cooler where the stock hoses attached and then weld on new male fittings elsewhere that will not interfere with the bulkhead or anything else. Doable just time consuming. That sled would run super cool though.

Thanks again motley one. Brad at Power Addiction is putting the biggest rear cooler he can fit into his tunnel without interfering with anything for me then chad at cr racing is working on a front cooler that will allow the fitment of a 3" track or a 2.5" track on 8 tooth drivers. Hopefully he will be realeasing that within the next few weeks. with the front cooler and the larger rear cooler ill be eliminating the radiator.
