tunnel swap?

Hi there hope someone can answer this. I have a 08 700 dragon and need a new tunnel/bulkhead, I bought the sled all smashed up and was wondering if a 05 rmk 900 tunnel/bulkhead would work? I'm hopeing I can just put all my parts on the 05 tunnel cause I can get one for free.
Thanks

it is the same basic chassis. It might take some custom brackets and alot of figuring but i think it could be done.

Not saying it cant be done, but it would be alot of work. The 05 is not a Raw tunnel so you would have cooling modifications to do. The steering hoop and footrests are different so they would have to be fabricated.

Putting the 05' tunnel on the 08' bulkhead.. possible but a major PITA. Putting the 700 in that 900 bulkhead.... would be like kicking yourself in the nuts a 1,000 times.

Speedemon.. I think you could put a raw tunnel on that chasis. It would take some create fab work, but I think it would work. Just as long as it is the same width. you will have some funky cutting and fab with the difference in chaincases too...

how much difference is there in the chaincase? I know the 05 tunnel/bulkhead is alot different than the later ones, but I thought the 06's were pretty similar to the 07+ bulkheads?

The 900 chaincases were longer. I dont know by how much. I think Fabcraft was using them for their drop and rolls on the RAW chasis. If that gives you an idea.

I could be wrong, but the 05/06 are identical. You are still dealing with a bulhead designed for a laydown motor.

tunnel

outlaw i believe the 05 900 chaincase is the odd ball
the 06 900 chaincase is shorter and i believe the same as the 07 and up
the newer raw bulkheads are set up for the 900 front cross member but no rear motor mounts so fabrication is a must

Anybody remember that oddball sled that somebody had for sale, it was an 07 sled, raw chassis, with a 900 in it. I guess there were some carry over motors that Polaris put in the new chassis for the heck of it? Sweet sled! This has me thinking, because even though aftermarket is always better, a stock raw tunnel with the coolers already in it would be much cheaper and I like the way they look, a lot! Anybody have a RAW tunnel they want to get rid of?
