Tunnel storage for 2022 freeride 165

the seat storage box (860202028) fits right behind the seat and doesn't use any tunnel space.

deep snow probag, the best bag ski doo makes but might have a tough time finding one now, not a fan of the tool box, even though guys say it is low profile take it off for three days then put it back on and you will hit your foot on it, you get use to it, so guys dont notice but your lifting your leg higher to accomodate it where you beleive it or not, 1 tunnel bag is more than enough and the glove box, riser bag or light weight hood bag for small stuff up front.

Looking for ideas Thanks First Skidoo
In usual Ox fashion, mine is more go than show.
I picked up a rack for a Grand Touring and I tossed an (big) old ATV bag in there.
Shovel over top, and 2 bungies, and all is right with the world.
I can squeeze the bag back a bit and stuff a 2 gal jerry in there if needed.

The deep snow pro bag is a complete POS. Norona must be getting kickbacks. Or he doesn't care about damaging his sled. I can show pics of the damage that it did to both of my 21 sleds. My 146 FR needed a new flap, it also had tunnel powdercoat damage from rubbing in three spots. My 165 Expert needed a new wire harness cover and it had tunnel coat damage. If not loaded heavy, your shovel will beat the crap out of the tunnel. Once I started throwing un-needed stuff in there to raise the shovel, it was fine. Until I looked close and saw that the stupid thing was rubbing holes in the powdercoat on the bottom. If you want to try one, I will sell mine cheap, it is never going on another sled of mine.

Took me a bit to find it. DMI. Doty Manufacturing. Holds everything up off the tunnel for better cooling, strap whatever you want to the top, no damage. Solid guy. I bought a 4 linq one from him when he first started (from here), I mentioned that the powdercoat was flaking, he sent me a free 2 linq one. Will be running those this year. I liked the cheap soft Doo bag to strap to it. Not waterproof, and only last one year before the zippers fall off and straps break, but cheap. The silly deep snow pro bag is not waterproof either. If it gets any moisture in it, and it will, things get funky. And you have to lubricate the zipper. WTF.

call the wambulance here comes devilmanak, ha ha over 15,000 bags sold last year, had one issue with productions straps to a small amount less than 150 bags needed replaced straps under warranty, and will sell out more this year. Take it for what it is, the best bag produced so far, yes things can happen if you not aware and don't do things correct. Hard to teach some people.

The rack from DMI I have had since 2015 when the Summit x had the heat exchanger shortened and would overheat ,and a bag sitting on the tunnel made it worse, the gentleman at DMI had the same trouble and that is why he started fabricating the tunnel bracket.I posted this in the snow flap discussion going on in a different post

Dave: You often provide great information on this site and show great restraint when the target of unkind comments. I have noticed a change in your posts recently though.

In the thread about the Doo removable snowflap you called complaints about it “whining” and suggested people fix it themselves.

In this thread, you are again being disparaging about complaints (legitimate ones) about another Doo product.

It might be more helpful to pass along observations from actual users to Doo rather than call it whining on this site.

I get that stuff has issues and perfection is hard to achieve. But many people on this site are the most enthusiastic sledders there are and are correspondingly hard on their stuff. If it works for them, problem-free, it will probably work for everyone else. So their input and observations have value and in my view, are not easily written off as just whining.

Thanks again for your positive insights.

I only answer truthfully, and am honest in my opinions, do I hold back to give guys the benefit, certainly, but there is a significant difference about truthful feedback and just bashing with no back story, the way people talk in these threads leads to just not getting involved, then guys wonder why ski doo or myself does not join in, guys just make stuff up, don't believe you when you give the honest truth and so it just not worth it. My honest feedback on what your talking about. I bring up a lot of stuff, but I also know whining when i see it and bashing so it will get a return after enough. cheers dave

People that you have called whiners HAVE given you backstory, in the last few threads you chose not to listen. Here’s an honest opinion. The pro bag is just ok at best, it’s the best linq bag offered, but probably not in the top 5 in the “bag” market. Organization in the skidoo bag sucks....it’s like looking for something in the bottom of a shopping bag. Most other bags on the market, the top zips open and you can find exactly what your looking for without ripping through everything. I’ve had 3 ski doo bags, the cheap BCA bag that I added linq latches to is half the money and functions better. I’m sure I’m whining.......

I tired to purchase LinQ #860202208 rack thru my Ski-Doo dealer(couple of months) and was always delayed on back order. Found one company on Ebay and ordered it and then got message that order canceled because not available. Answer I got was maybe available later in December. DMI rack is the way to go in my opinion!!

It sells out every year and not because we don't make a lot of them, as per talking to them it now has spacers, every little thing added the cost goes up so its a happy medium, and that is why you have choice. Cheers dave

I agree with Roadking in that Norona provides some great information... usually.

I also agree that Norona took the wrong approach on the above response. I had the Deep Snow Pro bag last year... for a day. I then took it back to the dealer and he graciously let me trade it for the slightly bigger Slim Waterproof Tunnel bag.

The Deep Snow Prow bag only uses a two point mount and there is no way for the bag to prevent itself from rocking. Add a shovel to the top of the bag and you made yourself a perfect hammer to beat the **** out or your tunnel and wiring channel. My buddies sled, along with the comments here, are proof of that (he's still mad as hell that his tunnel looks like **** now). The Slim Waterproof bag uses a four point mounting system so it doesn't suffer from the rocking ailment. Just make sure you don't load it up to keep the weight down.

Plain and simple the, design of the Pro Bag is not up to the standard to which the money it costs warrants. To defend it with the above "wambulance" comment and sales figures only takes away your credibility as a hardcore rider that listens to the community and provides valuable feedback to Doo.

I am on bag number 3 first bag broken straps maybe 14 mtn rides 2nd bag day 2 broken buckle strap zip tied it to run the rest of the season I had 36 mtn days last year. got new lid this summer. I ride sicamous.
the bag is flawed yes but it’s what I need for my sandwich and snacks. Survival gear as well.
I need a bag that only uses 1 linq spot as I need fuel.
As far as it beating your tunnel if it’s that big of a problem put some xpel where it’ll rub.or just don’t worry about trying to save it for the next guy.
side note the price needs to be lowered as the quality is not skidoo quality thus I don’t want to pay the premium for this bag.
now that warranty will be up I will rivet some good straps on it and hope they redesign for next year

I just purchased a two point DMI mount rack from a Snowest forum member and will mount a Snobunje four strap mounting point bag to it. Snobunje model 1036 bag and have used two of them for years and only one strap problem. Looked on net and price of Snobunje bag $40. - $50.
Good price compared to other brand of bags. Will say, I put items in plastic bag inside because of moisture.

I just put a BCA Pro Mtn tunnel bag on my Summit, I had to drill the holes a little bit forward in the bag to mount the Linq latches as the pre-drilled holes would not allow the bag to be latched as it would hit the rear of the gas tank. It's low profile and holds a good amount of gear and such along with a shovel and handle. I was seriously considering the Doo Pro Snow bag but after reading several reviews that were not favorable I decided on the BCA plus it's less than half the price of the Doo bag. YMMV.

i stated this last season, but there was a bad batch of straps, so those will be warranty for sure, the straps just bolt in, buckles are hard because they get blasted with snow so if you use regular closures with small channels they get filled an ice up and then too open, they can pull out, the straps i have found dont need to be reefed on, my deep snow bag does not move, holds a big shovel, and all my stuff as designed. would be awesome to make the bag cheaper but guys did not want roll top, they want 100% waterproof which is t-zip and it would blow your mind how much it costs to use that specific brand, hence the expence. talk to your dealer about getting you straps. cheers dave

I lost the top shovel pouch to my doo pro bag during one ride last year. Had a $70 shovel in it, broken straps left hanging in the wind. Dealer wouldn’t replace it. Had to buy the whole new top piece at $90 and a new shovel. Still love the bag though and will use it this year again. I just learned to watch it a little more carefully. My two most favorites tunnel bags ever made, below in the pics. And yes, I also use them on my Polaris!

Good job guy. Very professional. You are the ONE reason that I am embarrassed to ride Doo. I have purchased 23 new ones since 2013. You are representing a huge company, and poorly. Learn to capitalize in your posts, the lack of makes you look ignorant. When you came to Mile High a year or two ago, a bunch of us didn't go because we knew it would end badly. You are not helping Skidoo one bit. Wait. Hold on. The wambulance is coming. I hear it. Here it comes. Almost here. Just around the corner. In the driveway now. Almost to the garage. Backed up. Came back in. Almost here. Backed up again. Left my house, drove around the neighborhood, stopped at a few more places. Back here again. Driver is very confused. Must be Norona coming here to pick up my POS bag that he thinks is gold.
