Tunnel extension question

I have a 2006 REV 800--144". I am adding a longer track this year and will have to do a tunnel extension. Question 1: When you add a tunnel extension, Do you have to remove the stock tunnel piece then replace it with the new extension or do you put the new tunnel extension on top of the stock one? Next question: When you do the tunnel extension, do you have to move the cooler back or just leave it in place?

yes you have to remove the old one,,just grind the rivits off from the back side,,I just did this to mine went from 151 to 162 ,,I used a slp ext the fit was a perfect match .. the cooler stays where it is at..the slp ext came with pre drilled rivet holes that actually lined up i was impressed..fyi the ep bumper works well too

Im going to change gearing a little i think because i went to a 8 tooth 2.86 pitch driver from a 10 tooth 2.52 driver... not sure on the clutching yet i have djs clutch kit now,, if i do change it will be to a 160/320 primary spring ,

track change

I am going from 144 to a 163 track assembly from a 2008 Xp. I got some 8 tooth drivers from Wahl racing and a tunnel extension from Van Amburg. I am going to replace the chain when I have it apart. And then it will be time to reclutch.

sound like your on the right track ,, what gears are you going to use??

gearing

Wardy, I bought the complete skid and track from Big John. He figured out that I would not have to change my gearing because I am going from a 10 tooth driver to a 8 tooth driver. I am not closed to sugestions but he is the pro and seems to know his stuff. I know I will have to reclutch though.
