I have an m8 with a bd pg kit it has the tunnel dump exhaust so there is a hole where the stock exhaust used to be. Was there something missing in my turbo kit or do i need to fab a hole cover?

All you need is a shock tower vent.

I think there are companies that make a vent that fits into the stock mountain location of the stock exhaust deflector.

I just made mine into its own vent with some pet screen and chicken wire.

2 Cool vents make a stock exhaust delete vent. You can get this vent from them or through OVS as well as many other places I imagine. Pretty nice vent that takes it a couple steps further than the pet screen. I have that and it still lets snow in, 2 Cool uses a finer mesh screen behind the pet screen for that vent and the clutch side, very high quality products available in many color options...

the slp poo 900 vent kit is the ticket, comes with the bomb proof metal screen you will need if you happen to ride off trail:face-icon-small-coo

screen

You can silicon some pet screen on the inside. Also I removed the exhaust deflector thing, just fills with snow otherwise.

As hatch stated the slp vent is the hot setup.

Thin sheet of aluminum cut and bent, black spray paint, 4 rivets, and a 2.5" ID frogzskin. Cheap & effective. I have ran one on both of my sleds all season long smacking tree branches with no issues. The vent is kind of recessed in there so it would have to be a direct tree branch poke to get through there... not like the frogzskin vent I put on there isn't cheap to replace anyway.

is there any benefit to tunnel dump exhaust on a na sled? im hopin for a quieter sled without changin my can if i dont have to. i dont ride mountains all the time alot of it is pokin around the small hills in my area and when the exhaust isnt in the deep snow its pretty loud, ear ringing loud actually after about 40 miles

I have speedwerx tunnel dumps on both my NA '10 M8 and NA '09 M1000. No longer get any right hand carve exhaust bogs from pow, and sounds much more quiet than any other aftermarket can on the market. Dropped ~12lbs and did not lose any RPM or HP.

How loud is that setup with no muffler? I'm having no problems with my OVS system in the last two rides in the super deep 3ft snow we had, but snow is getting in around the outlet and packing up my belly pan. Pretty impressed with the overall deep snow performance on the last trip with my sled. Key is the upper frog skinz in the middle of the hood and the 2 Cool exhaust vent delete kit I find. Looking to lower the noise, and help with deep snow idling without having to clear the side panel when I stop.

How big can you do a tunnel dump? 2.5" max? I think I'll get Brett Linderman to do mine next fall with a propane conversion. This side dump is just too loud for this guy, hopefully the tunnel dump is fine without a quiet muffler setup.
