Tunnel cooler pics and price

I got the extrusion and had a chance to weld up a u-cooler 16"x11" that weighed in at 2lbs and 2oz. Other sizes can be made depending on your need but this cooler would sell for 220$ plus shipping

looking good

I've been thinking along the same lines. I have built a good number of sled coolers out of that material, works, no leaks.

On your prototype, maybe some mounting tabs ?

Depending upon location of the cooler, angle the inlet and out let pipes forward, helps to have some kind of barb/sealing ring/ grooves on the pipes. the angle makes a chitty little welding job but better cooler with shorter hose.

Almost a question on the bikes, do you put the fins up for the snow sitting on the cooler or down to get random air and snow going by ?

The cooler mounts up under the tunnel so the smooth face is up against the the tunnel and the flat flange all the way around the cooler is for mounting with rivets. As far as the tubes they can be cut at 45°and welded into a 90°facing forward however I believe there would be better flow if the rubber hose had a formed 90° as it enters the cooler. As far as the barb on the tubes there are none on snowmobile coolers and of the nearly 100 I have made for CMX we have never had a problem.

Looks awesome! What size are the inlet/outlet tubes (aka what size hose is needed)?
Thanks.
