tunnel bracing

So i have a 2011 pro I rode all last season. By the summer time needless to say all the jumping had buckled the tunnel at the drop brackets for the carrier wheels. I ordered and installed wrp braces and havn't tested it yet but install is pretty slick and seems like it should solve any future damage.
I picked up a 2012 assault because I am spending more and more time in the air.
So while installing the wrp brace on the 2011 pro I took a look at the 12's brace and decided to add a couple more rivets into the stock brace on each side and another 3 rivets along the running boards on each side, all in the hopes that it becomes more ridgid and avoids new damage. The 2012 I got was trashed on pretty good as I can attest to as I watched my buddy tomahawk it several times last season, but due to the superior shocks on the assault and a stronger stock brace [I believe the stock 2012 brace is steel not aluminum like the 2011's stock brace] the tunnel was straight as an arrow.

point being if u dont want to encounter any problems on your ride I recommend you brace your tunnel or at least add some more rivets to spread that impact load.

hope this helps a couple of you

cheers

Any chance you could throw up a pic of what you did? been looking into tunnel braces and I don't feel like anyone is making anything that covers the full weak area right now. WRP and timerbsleds are decent but I would like something that goes a little further forward as well.

From what I've seen... AK's stuff is top notch.

If you are carrying gas AND and bag on your tunnel... and ride whooped out trails or are aggressive in your riding.. you will need bracing.

Have a look at the tunnel warning sticker... 15 lbs is "real".

Factory is not warranting (and shouldn't) if you bend your tunnel from overloading.

Also, The bracing will keep help with drop bracket strength for you people Dropping cornices etc.
