Tunnel Bag ?'s

Hello all. I am new the forum, and unfortunately have been out of snowmobiling for quite awhile. I used to ride a lot back on the east coast, but due to a new job, I now reside in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com
><st1:State w:st=
Montana.</ST1:p</st1:State>

<st1:State w:st="on"></st1:State>
However, last year I purchased a Ski-Doo Summit 600 with a 146" track. The sleds that I always used to ride were short tracked sleds, and had storage in the rear of the seat. Needless to say, as I'm sure you here know-all-too-well, these newer sleds lack the much needed storage space.
<O:p
After riding my sled last year, I have noticed that the tunnel can heat up quite a bit. I guess I am just confused as to how the bag would not melt as it sets on the exposed metal of the tunnel. Maybe there is something I am missing as I have never personally seen a tunnel bag.
<O:p

Also, does anyone have any recommendations of a relatively cheap tunnel bag that would be a good for some extra storage on my sled? Thanks in advance!<O:p</O:p

I've never seen a tunnel actually get hot to the touch. It does get warmer than freezing, because I've seen snow melt on it, but it's never hot. l ride an '09 Skidoo 600 etec Renegade with a tunnel bag. No problems.

A cheap bag is just that, cheap. If money is tight, I have two of the polaris bags that I will make you a heck of a deal on, but when you see how crappy they are, and your gear gets all wet, you can't send them back!!

This. I have alot of gear from these folks. They are THE BEST people to deal with. Great gear, great price. They also have some great deals going on . . . .

I have two of the Large bags, VERY NICE. Like to support the local folks too!
If you are worried about cooling, this bag sits about 3/4 inch above the tunnel so it allows for venting. These bags are not cheap, but once you hold them in your hands you will understand. GREAT BAG. It has a hard bottom/sides (actually a large gas can with the top cut out!) It's tough and you stuff will stay dry.

just bungee a back pack to your tunnel. got a hi tech pack from big five for $20 bucks and it holds my 5 extra pair of gloves, googles, rope, shovel, saw, 12 pack of beer, etc. works great and beats paying through the nose for a tunnel bag. the rubber bungees work the best to holder down.

Another idea is to a pack to wear. Seems cumbersome at first but after a couple rides, you won't even notice it. Can pack everything I need and it stays dry and attached to me.
