600HO 05 136" hawk. I have 330mains, 15pilots, needle pos.#3, airscrew 1 1/2 turns out. TRA 3 clutch stock 600 mxz setup, stock secondary at pos. #6 when I took it off.

Secondary was seized on the shaft, I spent an hour beating on it to get it off. In the process can't read the numbers on the helix. The guy I bought it from bought it out of a dealer in MI and never messed with the clutches, I am assuming they are stock.

Problem! Bottom end bogs when I start out then it shifts out real nice. When I back off and get on it again the motor bogs or clutching. And after a full throttle run it seems like the motor wants to die.

Any thoughts! Could someone have put too shallow of a helix in.

I might take it to the Skidoo dealer. Hopefully they would be willing to work on it.

Its kinda tough on a Hawk but, try to lift the choke a little when you get back on the throttle, if the bog gets better its a lean bog and you need to move your needle clip to richen up the mid range. If applying choke make it worse than your to fat. If applying choke does not change anything its proibily clutching.

Whats your elevation, your pilot jet seems small, i'm 17.5 at sea level.

Is it the Sport or Outlaw, I ask because I believe they come with different exhaust systems. Which do you have? Is yours silver in color and have a big "suitcase" that stands vertically on the recoil side? This is the new quiet exhaust. If so they recomnd 15 pilot and 400 main thats what I am running and it perfect (with Vforce reeds). Maybe a tad lean so 330 seems very lean. For some reason they dont recomend moving the needle.

If you have the JAWS pipe which is the louder and older option. They recomend 17.5 pilot 350 main..

I had the same experience with my clutch, what pain in the *** huh! If I remember correctly the 6 position is at the most counter clock wise position if you are looking at back of the clutch.
I found this on doo talk if you want to increase the tension on the spring. THe adjustments are not intuitive so look closely. The stock setting is B6 on the beige spring (may be black with beige stripe) I turned mine up trying to diagnose a problem like yours. Dont forget to clean up all the sliding surfaces of the clutch, I made a mess of them trying to get them apart.

Good Luck.. My problem was that I put the quiet pipe on my 04 600 and it was doing what you are experiencing but mostly in powder snow. I realized the quiet pipe pointed in down where the original pointed back. The belly was choking the exhaust so I cut a hole.. Duh..

Thanks guys I will try that after work. I filed the key down so the clutch slides on the shaft.

Put a light lubricating grease on shaft and check and then wipe and redo every 4-5 rides it will save you lots of grief ! Dont know if you have pods or air box or elevation or which pipe but at 4000 to 9000 on 04 hawks ( 600s )we run 270 main with 17.5 pilot , on my 734 motor i only run 330 mains so it could be that you are to rich and your getting so much gas in pipe that its creating a bog . The other thing is you may want to pull reed cages and look at reeds on back side , if they arent sealing tight they can cause many inconsistant rich and bogging symptons and will drive you nuts trying to figure out !:D Been there done that ..... RECENTLY ! P.S. in the north west we have found that recommended by the manual is usually several steps to rich on mains
