I haven't heard of a snowbike having trouble with track stabbing... Has a Riot done this or just being careful?
I don't know if this is an isolated case or not but saw it on Facebook last night
Curious what the initial reasoning was on looking for a kit?
Please update the thread if you end up installing one. Have heard of the issue but hadn't considered it for snowbikes....
Polaris doesn’t seem to think it needs one. Please let me know what you guys find out though as I can’t imagine the stab kit could hurt.
My ARO is set up to transfer weight similar to the riot , I went with the arctic cat anti stab kit cheapest option no problem in 2 years. Make sure to put lock tight under the bearing races, they came machined a bit loose back then, But AC might have fixed that by now.
ok, I can see a potential problem. The plastic rail cap is wider than the window but just barely. So you hit a stump you could push the rail tip through the track. All sleds always have that potential. Usually the speared tracks I see are on sleds that routinely break a arms, mash bumpers, cover their decals with duct tape.
But hey, you can't be too cautious with new iron. So, I added to the width and length of the rail caps on my RIOT, if you force the this much plastic through the track, your day was just not going well.
If the past on sleds this wider cap was not an anti spear option because of the outside lugs/nobs, but hey no Riot knobs, more plastic. No snow yet, no pictures until I ride and evaluate this, maybe I should save for a new track.

I have run my cheapo anti stab kit a number of rides, used this same concept on SNOW X SLEDS years back. Last couple of rides no issues.
