TS rescue tips??

Heading out in the am to help a buddy tow his TS home. Any tips ideas, suggestions on towing a bike?
Pretty gnarly baseless snow and in a treed area- sleds no help.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure what terms to use if searched this site, but it has been discussed some. Remember something about guys putting a plastic kiddy sled that's shaped like a wagon bed under the bike track, then towing the bike that way.

We had to tow one last weekend and tied onto the footpegs of the rescued bike and tied off to the back handle on the TS, footpegs to footpegs may be a better choice.

That was down a logging road in good snow which went well, your deep and gnarly may made this impossible. I have heard of guys taking them apart and towing the bike and the skid out separately. Fix what's wrong with it out there?

Pull the track and tow it out on the sliders I tow from the top of the subframe and take the fender of the bike being towed and pull on the bottom of the triple clamp so you can still steer properly. The sliders track pretty straight even on a sidehill. Much better than a skimmer if it is in truly tough terrain.
You guys are having to much fun or else there may be a curse on snow bike motors around here.
Was a hard weekend on equipment all around sleds and Bikes.

Unfortunately no tips to offer but, would appreciate an update when you get it out and what worked or did not work. What happened with the bike?

set the rear suspensiononof bike on :eyebrows: the rear of a snowmobile tie it down turn the ski backwards and go :eyebrows:

You may have to spend some time packing a track. Footpeg to footpeg tow works well, but until the towed bike's track loosens up it's tough. We had issues with the strap being cut by the towers track. A couple of carabiners would let you route it along the tunnel. Kiddy sled has merits but keep in mind you'll have less than zero braking ability. Good luck, take your time. Don't forget the first rule of rescue: don'take more victims, people or bikes...

took shocks and ski off bike. Place bike in a skimmer and away we went. Some pretty awesome climbs and snow- worked pretty darn good. We are a bit tired but got bike home:)

Yukondood, did you tow it with a bike? Did you take the shocks off to compress the skid?

I've towed and been towed out a couple times now. We tie on to the Timbersled bumper on the tow sled. For the towed sled, I wrap it once around the fork clamp support (the round 3/4" machined aluminum piece) with enough slack to reach up to the handle bars. You hold it in place at the bars and it still pulls from a central location. If things get crazy while towing, you just let go of the strap at the bars and the bike is free.
