trying to get r.p.m.'s

I just put a set of S.L.P. race pipes on a 2007 600 H.O. R.M.K. and can not get it in the R.P.M. range I am looking for, trying to get it between 8500 and 8700 but no luck, I put in 54 gram weight with a black/green sping and got 8150.

any Ideas?

I take it, it is a carb? if so thats were i would start besides the clutching. Dont know anything with the twins on a 6 but do know that they will tell you to run richer than needed. If the 6s are anything like the old 8s, it will be very finicky to temp and altitude with twins on them.

Maby a shot in the dark here but a friend of mine put a snostuff can on his 07 dragon and had same problems as you describe, replaced this with the original and all was well...
In theory I think it's beacuse the back preassure was lower in the snostuff can, and thereby causing the low rpm's

Stiffer primary spring and/or secondary spring will bring your revs up.
