Trying to fit HPG 18'' eye to eye on a rev

So i'm trying to fit HPG remote res. shocks, 18'' eye to eye on an 04 rev. The rev takes a 17" eye to eye shock I thought it would be easy but it just does not fit. The A-arm is in the way and it's hard to compress the shock to pop in there. Has anyone tryed this?

i have 18 on my rt you have to pop the lower ball joint out put in your shock then put the ball joint back in and tighten i never had any problems

If your sway bar is still connected it might limit how much the arms droop, making shock installation more difficult. I know this is the case with my 09 Renegade.
