Trying to choose a sled 2011 HCR tunnel?

Possibly Looking to buy a new sled for next year. They still can't figure out what's wrong with my 2010 crossfire.

1 crossfire-love my 2010 apart from the issues I've been having. Jumps awesome. Haven't spent much time on a M8 to tell the diffence. Gets around good in the pow with the 2.25 pclaw

2 M8 153 sno pro- thinking of going a bit longer scared I won't get the transfer I'm used to from the crossfire. I like being able to loft my front end up in the air when I need to.

3 HCR might take the abuse I feed it a little better than the M8

What's different about the HCR tunnel and why did they change it from the normal 153?

For those of you with M8's can you loft the front end when your playing in the trees pretty good.

You won't see near the fun factor that you do out of the 141.

As for the HCR, people try to make it sound like it's this special "freeride" type sled... the only difference is the springs from that perspective, instead of floats up front you get the ti springs. Noting else makes it more able to handle the abuse.

Oh, and the new hcr will have a longer tunnel than thee M8 now, so it's even less likely to handle that abuse, as that's one of the first things that always bent on my longer sleds.

If you got where you wanted to go on the 141, stick with it. If you really saw a need to go longer, then I'd go with an M8 over the HCR. Do you still have the wide a arms on your XF though? Do you like them compared to an M? If so, maybe the hcr is a good choice, for me it's the first thing to go from our hcr & CF sleds.

the hcr also has the wider front end for more stability in a trail situation, similar to what you are used to in the crossfire. i lift the front end when i want to on my 09 m8 153 the length isnt a big issue with transfer for me. you should be able to cat walk when you want to with any of your choices listed. but, with that said, if you like the crossfire, add the 2.25" track, and have the best of both worlds. ski

destroyer its me again from revy u shoulda asked me to ride my hcr when we were there. what id say if ur looking for a new sled look for a 2010 left over. i dont think much changed from 2010 - 2011. difference between m8 - hcr is. wider stance by what like 2 inches from m8s widest to hcrs narrowest , stiffer track its nice for saskatchewan and doesnt really trench as much as ppl think. and the main difference is 2 coil over shocks in the front and a float on the rear. if i had a choice id get a coil over in the rear also. other then that i can make it side hill quite easily i can make it climb as high as i want depending on the mountain. and i can play in the trees easily alot of ppl are scared from the wide stance but i like it but if u do get one id say get a left over they are cheaper probably and still brand new. u saw how i think 3 of the new m8s rode in revy they can climb high.

i got a 2010 m8. no sno pro, i personally like it better with the coil-overs up front, front end bounces better compared to the floats from what i can feel. as far as getting the front end up, thats definitly not a problem and all i have done is a can. i rip this thing in some pretty tight trees and felt the need for a shorter track at all. even launching is almost easier to control the pitch of your front end with more track.(physics says so at least). but i agree with what the other people were saying, go with a 2010 either hcr or m8. either way you wont be disappointed. cheers

I've jumped every length of track out there aside from a 174... it's the other way around.

To me though, when I get much shorter than 136 it gets hard to keep the sled straight, my little sled tends to go sideways when I go big.

In the air, the 141 is the best length I've ridden.

The 141 has been the best jumping sled I've ever riden. With the shorter lenth the stance doesn't bother me one bit. I love the way it handles. I've riden a HCR and a M8. They were set up really bad and I didn't have the time to play with them. I did do some sweet drops and gap jumps on the Dealers's M8 though.

I Might stick with the 141. But I've been talking with Kevin at Mainjet and I might get on a M8 Turbo 153 For Next Year!!!

tad bit of commitment on that hit huh Chad???

Nice shot, wish you lived closer, seems people who like to get off the ground are few & far between around here.

Hey, how the heck did you get to link to www.backcountryrebels.com? That was pretty cool actually being able to click on a link to there & not have to replace any words!

I'd say ride a few more & see what you think. After owning an HCR I'm not a fan, but everybody's situation & riding conditions are so different, you know?

edit, pretty cool that you can actually say bcr on here now, glad they finally changed that.

I just copy and pasted it from the address search bar. And Ya you had to be 100% committed on that gap. The runnway was short and you could hardly see the kicker we made because of all the trees. It was awesome though. Did you have a turbo on that HCR? I haven't spent any time on a turbo to know if I want one.

We've still got the hcr, yeah it's a turbo. Pretty happy with it, just recently started getting some bogging after riding for a while, not sure what's up with that. I was really thinking of getting a turbo, but seeing issues I can't figure out with the turbo keep me from being 100% on getting one.
