Truck toolbox question

So I just picked up a toolbox for my truck and was wonering if there is anything I can put between it and the bedrails to keep it from scratching the crap out of my bedrails? I have seen people try weather stripping but that doesnt seem to work. I plan on getting it rhino lined but not for a while so need something to get me by till then. I just done want it to rub through the paint and cause rust.

Toolbox

My toolbox came with rubber pads the width of the toolbox that it sits on. I would think you could use any type of foam product. If you know anybody in the construction field Sill Sealer cut to fit would work just fine I believe.

Mine had some rubber weatherstrip on it.

Worthless.

My truck's rhino-lined, so the bed didn't get scratched.

Just get the rhinoliner and be done with it.

I really do not think rubber or foam would be a good lasting solution, maybe a mudflap thick rubber might hold up for a while. I think you should just Rhino Line or similar before you put the box in but I also wonder how long that would hold up under the box. My truck has diamond plate bed rail protectors and a sprayed bed liner. I can not tell you where to get them as they were on the truck when I bought it used. Good luck...Jeff

I've got plastic bed rail protectors on my truck with the box on top of those.
