TRUCK STOLLEN ON NEW YEARS DAY!!

So came home from working night shift new years eve to find my 2005 F350 SD stolen. I Just finished putting a sled deck in (used), fender flares, levelling kit, tinted windows, and visors all around. Finally had my toy hauler all ready to go and some a##hole took it, got 2miles out of town and rolled it.:face-icon-small-fro Most likely a write off. So my question I guess is for anyone that knows the laws in British Columbia. I have a 2010 dodge ram 1500 that I can use for now until I figure out what is going on with my other truck. What is the rules on pulling a sled trailer, or putting a sled deck on a 1/2 ton in BC? I have been told different stories but can't seem to find the LAW online.

Thanks

I'm obviously in the US so this may not help you, but here it is as long as you don't go over the GVWR and payload capacity you should be fine. BTW that blows about the F350 man! Good luck, hope the insurance helps you out.

PS. I was in Valemount / Blue river Dec 27th-30th with my 2013 pro. First trip. Sled was awsome!! Ran perfect, never broke anything. Found some awsome snow in Blue river.

Why don't you put this thread in the General section so more people will see it? Not sure why you put it in the Polaris section.

As said before as long as you don't exceed your GVWR you are legal. Most half tons allow you to carry around 1500 pounds give or take. This includes cargo in the bed, vehicle occupants and gear. With a sled deck (as long as it's not cast iron) and 1 snowmobile (as long as it's not a Yamaha :face-icon-small-ton) you should be within your limits. 2 sleds will likely put you over even if it's a light weight deck.

Assuming it's a short box throw a red light from Princess Auto on your sled's bumper if it hangs further than 3 feet past the back of your truck.

Towing a 2 place sled trailer should be no issue with a half ton.

Good luck with insurance. At least your sled wasn't on top of the deck.

Towing a trailer.

My wife is from Alberta and the laws there are that each sled on a trailer, open ,enclosed ,sled bed etc. has to be tied down with four separate tie downs. What they say is all four corners tied down. Applies to 4 wheeler also. Hope this helps you out.

You should put the info about your pickup in the state section
