I am having trouble replacing the belt on an 02 summit 800. The threads where the tool is supposed to screw into the secondary were stripped out before I bought the sled so I am trying to spread the sheaves manually to change the belt. With the brake set, I am trying to take the inside sheave (closest to air box) of the secondary and turn it clockwise while simultaneously pusing the sheave towards the air box. I am trying to do this by myself and not having much luck. I can get the sheav to turn clockwise but can't get it to spread open. Am I doing something wrong or is there a trick to getting the belt off?

one of the three allen head studs that adjust your belt deflection can be used to spread the secondary sheaves like the tool did. just remove one, and thread it into the hole the tool goes into with the allen wrench.
