Triton Trailer with Coverall: Love 'em or Hate 'em?

Looking for feedback from those that own one.

I'm looking at a 2006 12foot w/ V nose for $3,500. I know it's no 2 place enclosed but My Yukon will be happier pulling this and I friggin' done with open placers.

Got a great deal on a covered Floe. 12 ft +vnose. Front and back open. I love it and my baby Dodge Dakota love it. It pulls perfectly and keeps the sleds dry and clean.

BUT..................

No fun trying to start my 02 800 when it is cold. Pulling the thing over with limited head room is a pain. Take your backpack off when loading the sleds. It can hit the roof. It seems to collect a lot of condensation. I installed a roof vent that seems to help.

For me it is the perfect compromise. I have a few attachmest to hold gas cans,, folding chairs, oil, adn hooks for clothes.

Just know there are some limitations, but for me, I could not have found a better sled storage/transportation solution.

I had a 10' tilt with a Bearcat cap. I loved it. Two bad things about it was 10' length was too short for anything over a 144". 2nd was the little 8" tires - they suck and I ruined a couple. 65 to 75mph is a lot for a little tire.

If I didn't need a sled deck, I'd use a 12' with a cap. They are the best compromise to an enclosed and you can also take the cap off if you need an open trailer at any point.

I bought one this year and very happy with it. 12ft Triton Elite with Coverall.

It was a nice compromise between an open place & full size enclosed. Couldn't afford a full size enclosed aluminum, and steel trailers are heavy. Also, I don't have a place to put a longer/higher enclosed (son's quarter-pipe would have to go  ). Wind does not effect it as much going down the road, don't even know it's behind the F250. Can also hall dirt bikes in the summer behind the camper in truck bed (steel would have been too heavy combined with the camper). Triton quality, fit & finish are second to none.

Do agree it needs more vents .. will upgrade that soon.

Only disadvantages are you cannot carry a lot of extra stuff in the trailer and getting dressed at the trailhead isn't as comfortable.

For me, a smaller covered aluminum was better than a bigger/heavier/more expensive steel, no regrets. Makes me smile to know I'll never have to mess with a fabric sled cover again !!!

poaching...

alright I am poaching... seeing that you guys are from Colorado 2, I am looking for a 12 with cover trailer to replace my old 96 triton 10' tilt. She's been good to me but now I am sick of dealing with the sled covers...

where did you purchase yours from?

did they have one on the lot?

ball park price?

the manuf. catalogs suck, so any info would be appreciated...

I bought mine used for $1500 or so 5 or 6 years ago. New look at Trailer Source in Wheatridge (I70 and Ward, I think) or there may be a Triton dealer north on I25 somewhere (longmont?). I think sledbed is a little nicer with the fiberglass depending on the height you need.

If you have atv's double check the heights to make sure they'll fit.

I bought a sledbed with top cap at the beginning of this season for $3250 from a guy in littleton.

The struts are old and i just got new ones ($125). Will see if that helps lifting it. I like it so far but yes it can be a pain sometimes.

The top can freeze to the deck. I have a pry bar in my truck

Snow accumulates on the top which can make lifting heavy. hopefully the new struts will help that.

It tows AWESOME and if i get in a tight spot i can unhook and flip it around by myself. That is a huge plus IMO.

I towed Rotax's 2 place enclosed and it was pretty smooth. Although it was a pretty straight trip, no switchbacks.

I hate covers also

Pretty sure Xtreme in Dacono is a Triton Dealer as well.

Love It

I've used my Triton 2 x's now & LOVE IT.

Tows like a dream & I am getting 2 mpg better than I did towing the open place. The best part; no nasty covers and I got my garage back since I now park the trailer in the driveway. I'm more excited about this than my new-to-me Vertical Excape.

The only drawback I see so far is it holds moisture so the inside gets condensation build up. I plan on installing a solar powered roof vent to pull the air out.

Paid 3,500 at a Triton dealer in Utah. It was the GM's personal trailer and was one season old. He used it mainly for ATVs.
