Trip to Rabbit Ears in april

3 of my buddies and I have decided to take a road trip out from nh to ride the first week of april. was just wondering what to expect? what the conditions generally are like? if it still snows into april (hoping to get a pow day). What it costs to register, and some idea on decent night life.
Thanks in advance.

Holy crap!!! NH I assume is new hampshire? Now thats a haul. Most years there is good snow in April but this year could be a crap shoot. Good luck.

I agree that April is when it really becomes a crapshoot for the good powder days.

Sometimes you can get lucky and ride fresh snow, other times you can bust out a bunch of sunscreen and ride in a t-shirt on concrete snow. Hopefully the storms will be timed well and you'll get some good days in - have fun!

You guys planning on rotating drivers and cruising straight thru? Had a buddy and some friends do that a few years ago and it took them 36hrs I think. Where in NH you from? I grew up in Berlin

I've done the trip alone from Berlin NH in 2 days on a couple of occasions. Not a very fun drive just so you know...

Sounds like everyone else has handled your snow and night life questions...

Good luck and have fun. Also like stated already come prepared with the right gear as well and hopefully the knowledge on how to use it. There have already been 5 avy deaths in CO this year. Not trying to scare anyone just want people to have fun and be safe.

O registration is cheap, I forget if its 25 or 35. Same for res and non res.

Just want to thank all of you to getting back to me so fast. Yes we are driving out from NH, and planning on going straight through. Ive done it before and it sucked, but that was only with one other person. This time there will be four people so it should be a little easier. I pretty much figured no one could give a real idea on what the conditions would be, we are just going to keep really optimistic i guess haha. If anything im sure it will be better then the maine/nh back woods. Im pretty sure a buddy hired a guide so hopefully he can aid in keeping up out of trouble as well. we all have the supplies/equipment/tools to spend a night in the woods so we shouldn't be to unprepared.
feel free to add anything else we should know
