I got a 06 SD with 8" Rize lift and I bought some new rims that are 20x12 with a 37x13.5 tire but they rub real bad on the inner fender when turning and on uneven ground.Whats involved with a trimmin the fender? Will the flares I have fit after trimming or can you order bigger flares not sure how to go about that. The 20x10 inch rims seem pretty good with that size tire but now Im stuck with this other set of rims.

Well you will have to get bigger flares I suggest the bushwackers as they have a design sprcificly for trimming your fenders and they look pretty cool too. Also I would suggest taking it to a body shop to have the work done. If they do it and screw it up you don't have to buy the new box side or fender and then pay to have it painted if you know what I mean. Plus they can color match the flares or put on a nice contrasting finish. If your uber-confident then go for it mask off the fender for a good distance past your cut to avoid scratches then mark off the cut and fire up the body saw. You will also have to figure out how your going to reattach the plastic fender liner and I would highly reccomend sealing the cut edge with undercoating or paint to keep the rust out. Then just mount them up and go.
