I have to say that this is quite a swap !

He needs to adjust his secondary, belt seem to be way too low in the sheaves. I guess it's a real pain to put a new motor in there and that the primary may probably not be at the exact same location as a 503F motor, creating that problem.

What's the motor in there ?

I have to add this : Some Graphics would definitely look cool on that 503 !

Is this a 503 or what...? There we go, we had our answer with the question !

This partly custom built Hawk needs Graphics identifying the motor & builder !

Specs:

O.k guys, here are what I think the 'specs' would be - I bought the main fram sections/plastics/track and ski from Boivin and made the rest. I think it is dimensionally close to a 503f. I made a copy of the expert x rear skid which I have now realized needs longer arms on it, I added some extra tip up on the front of the rails to keep them from stabbing the track. The shocks are from the front of a viper, a little soft but they work. The forks are from an '03 YZ450 with some stiffer springs, I made my own triple clamps and frame mounts for the forks. It has an '89 formula plus engine which is a 521 liquid, good bottom end power. The clutching is from the same, I am now running a Polaris belt and have re-adjusted the secondary - the stock snowhawk belt isn't long enough to let the clutches fully shift. The exhaust is the stock one off of the sled that the engine came out of with some slight modification...I made the front and rear sub frame sections and all of the latch hooks, the steering column and mount. The heat exchangers are out of a '81 blizzard 9500 and have been cut in half because of their original length. The brakes are from a s-chassis ski-doo with a homemade disc. I made up a chain drive using a D.I.D 520 gold chain and sprockets /taper lock hubs from the local farm supply store. The jackshaft is a solid one from the doner sled that has been reworked. It has uni-filters with filterskins and the jetting has been changed to work with the filters/exhaust. It seems to work well but I have nothing to compare it to, and now no snow!!

No pics from the build at all - I have looked at this thing in pieces for a year, probobly will regret it in a while but I figure that now I can just go and look at it. I'm thinking of making a longer swingarm for the rear suspension to eliminate the track tightening issue with the current design, I think that it will also make the suspension work in a more linear rate rather than the falling rate that the rear is now.
