Trampoline material for mesh hood?

Has anyone used trampoline material for a mesh hood? I have a custom made mesh hood on my TM1000 and the builder said it was made with trampoline material. I burned a hole in it and need to replace. Trying to decide if I should use trampoline material again or just use pet proof screen. I will say the trampoline material was tough stuff.

Used to build vents out of trampoline material. it works a lot better at keeping water out than pet screen and it is tougher. You can order a roll of it online pretty cheap it seams like. Maybe $50 for a lifetime supply.

How about wire backed silt fence? Home Depot sells a 100' roll x4 for $79.
