looking at the trail tank anybody got the trail tank on there nytro hows it fit? anywith rear mount turbo all lines to turbo still fit under tank? thanks Tim

I have last years model on my MTX and the fit isn't very good. If you're anal about fit and finish skip it, if you just want 3 extra gallons of gas and don't care about looks than buy it. The 09 tank may fit better. Here are some pics of mine.

I spoke to Seth a Trail tank a few weeks ago I was going to order a tank and he said that he was in the middle of re-working his mold I guess there was some interference with the tunnel cooler lines on the mtx models. I have herd the new tanks fit a lot better.

I also have a new "revised" version on order. Was told they would be done about this week some time. Hopefully they fit better than the previous ones. Will post how it fits later.

I was determined to buy one...but after seeing alll the pics of how it fit and the way the plastic bolts on.....no chance...I wouldnt be able to sleep at night....I wish the fit was like OEM......

thistle, it really isnt that bad. do some trimming, be pacient and fit everything the way YOU want it to and it will look factory. here's mine. ski

We have a few to put on our sleds. Just got the first one done and it takes a little work for sure. A little grinding on the seat base, a little plastic trimming here and there. Real bugger to get the fuel lines for the stage 2 MCX in the groove (not wide enough) so the tank cover sits up a bit. Guess it just looks a little more guppy like now, LOL. Will be nice to have the extra range though. I guess we get spoiled with the Yamaha fit and finish, now it just fits like some of the other brands stock fit and finish. Won't look too bad once we get the stickers on. The glare from the tunnels Chad sent us will distract everyone

Unfortunately, the current tanks look and fit like crap on an MTX. As mentioned above, they are re-working the mold so hopefully they will fit better.

I thought I should post an update. I got a new Trail Tank(Seth is awesome to deal with BTW) and the fit and finish is 10x better than the old one I had. The new one is quite a bit different and I noticed all the problem areas have been fixed. Installed it last night and I'm very happy

I am alot happier with my new one as well. It still didn't fit 100% but it was pretty good. when i pulled my sled apart last week i noticed that the turbo coolant lines had some marks on them from the tank, i think that is causing the tank to be a bit farther back than it should be (about 1/4"). Im going to try relocating them a bit and seeing if that helps.

Definitely agree on dealing with Seth, great guy!
