Trailering backwards?

Hi Guy,

Newbe getting ready for very 1st ride. I have a small flatbed trailer and will have to transport one of my sleds backwards. My worry is that driving down the highway 55-60 will break off the windshield of the backwards sled. I can easily hook a bungie around the windshield to help support it to the sled. 98 indy trail, 99 MXZ500

Is this something I should worry about? If yes, any suggestions would be appriciated.
Thanks, David

Thanks, I did not even think about that, sure am glad I asked before heading down the road and tearing it off. Will the sled that is facing forward be ok, or should i remove it's windshield too.

Thanks, David

The forward facing one should be fine. Also check the rubber straps on the "backwards" sled. If they are cracked and worn out(I'm saying this because of the age of the sleds)they aren't going to hold for crap. I have seen them fail on backward facing sleds and watched peoples hoods take flight:flypig:That will get expensive in a hurry:face-icon-small-win

Here is what we do, exactly like everyone is saying.

Ive put a sled backwards on my trailer many times to fit a fifth sled on my trailer. Nevertaken off the windshield and never had any problems. Many times going 100+ miles at 65MPH.

Thanks Guys,

I will for sure take the windshield off and put a bungie strap over the hood on the backwards sled. Better safe than sorry. The rubber hood straps look good on both of my sleds. Heading out Tuesday for my 1st ride:face-icon-small-hap.

Thanks, David
