I MAY be buying this trailer for rather cheap. Judging from the picture, and no I have not seen in person yet, do you all think this trailer could hold two 400+ lb sleds on it? It being a single axle I have no idea if two sleds would be overkill for it. What do you all think?

I spoke to the gentleman and he told me he used to carry his ultra-light plane on it, but never snowmobiles. He says it is in dcecent shape.

Just looking for others out there with a similar trailer or know if this thing could hold two 400+ lb sleds for an extended drive(6hrs) to the mountains. Thanks...happy sledding!

There should be a rating on the axle, it is more than likely a 1500 or 2000 lb. axle. Two sleds should be OK if you do not drive 75- 80 mph all day.
A friend of mine has a similar trailer. His most common problems are the small donut tires and bearings. He carries two spares and greases bearings every trip. In the summer he repacks the bearings because the bearing buddies do not lube the inner bearings.
Small tires lots of revolutions.
Some thing to compare the trailer with ones in ID, UT, and WY

Looks like it used to be sled trailer. Maybe a name on it somewhere. Check lb rating of tires. Should be like 940 per tire. Check for weathering cracks on tires. Make sure tires r less than 5 years old. Sidewalks should say 50psi max. Raise each tire off ground and grab tire and feel for bearing looseness. Ck tongue to make sure pivot point is solid. Ask about bearing maint history.

What two sleds do you have that only come to 400lbs each? A couple of Phazers with no fuel?

400 + pounds each....meaning each sled weighs over 400 lbs each, not sure of the exact weight of each.

I didn't mean to sound like a douche. But if you are crunching numbers to see if that trailer can carry two full sized sleds you better plan about 550lbs each full of fluids.

It's all good man. I know you didn't mean it in that way. I'm just looking for any thoughts/opinions on it. We have a trip coming up quick(month away) with 4 sleds and 1 guy has a trailer that can only take 2 sleds. so I'm checking everywhere, to get a cheap in price yet reliable, to take up there with us to avoid having to take 2 more pick ups to throw the sleds in the bed of.
