Depends on what size of heater, and how efficent it is with the amount of ducts in use. I have a 30,000 BTU and if is only efficent with 4 ducts in use, one down to the floor, 1 under my drying rack (helmets, boots, gloves) and 2 over (facing down ) the wall hangers (jacket, pants, first layer etc). If you got the 36,000 or 40000 there good for 5 and 6 ducts).

I have a 35,000 btu heater and I run one 4" duct from the heater about 18" above the floor under the bench. In this duct I drilled 1" hole every 6", this is the boot dry area!
Next I ran a 6" duct down the full length of the trailer in the top corner and drilled the same 1" holes in it. The first eight feet they are about every 8" because the clothes racks are there, and about every foot after that.
I used metal duct and a 1" hole saw, if you drill from the outside it will leave a nice hole with no ruff edeges.
If you do not drill enought holes your heater will over heat and shut down! Just drill more holes!
