I'm shopping around and looking for a wall heater to put into my trailer.

Looking at this Mr. Heater
BuddyWallMount.jpg

Vent-Free Wallmount Heaters
Model No: MHVFB10LPI
Enjoy the comfort and warmth of safe, clean-burning Heat

Looking for other opinions.

Thanks

Look in the trucks and trailer section there is a sticky about mounting heaters.
They discuss forced and radiant heaters.

Skibreeze has one that is mounted under the trailer and blows up from the floor:face-icon-small-coo I thinks its from an RV. Works like a champ:boxing:

Yup, I went the more difficult route of mounting my 30k btu RV furnace under the floor to eliminate the loss of interior space. Today I started pulling the interior walls to insulate it, what a PITA!

forced air hydro flame 35-40 thou btu... i went with radiant first and regretted it. look in truck and trailer.

THanks. My trailer is small so a big one doesn't make sense.

Most of them come with an Oxygen Depletion Sensor, and that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. They won't work at elevations over 4500' so one would need to bypass the ODS. Just trying to figure that one out.

They all list an elevation max but I have a blue flame with oxygen sensor that works fine at elevation.

Which brand are you using Dizz? I'm gonna pull the trigger today so I have it to mount and run the gasline this weekend. A friend is giving me an under trailer propane tank so I'm putting that in too. Thanks for the tip.

I think it was a Kozy Hearth wall mount 10000 btu...trailers in storage.

I have forced air too...but its nice to heat up the trailer quick...my heaters got boost!

Thanks. You've seen my trailer, no need to use forced air. I also plan on using a generator to run so I can plug the diesel in. Donovan says that the little Honda things he has would be perfect and will run all day.

If I have too, I'm sure that I can disable the ODS.

Does anyone use electric?

I have a 5000W (17000BTU) construction heater & a 8000W generator.

I have a vent-free heater in my trailer. I have used it at over 7,000' without problems.

Just make sure that you have enough venting if you plan on sleeping or working in the trailer for an extended amount of time. I have spent a couple hours working on a sled in the trailer and I could feel the effects. I will be installing more venting this year.JMO

If you are going to be running a generator anyways, why not just install an electric heater and be done with it? No worries about propane, lighting a heater, fumes, plumbing and wiring, etc..

'Cuz electrics have significantly lower outputs based on the same physical size, and still need wiring. Plus, I don't own a generator. An RV furnace is more of a pita to initially install, but the dry, worry free heat is awesome.
