Trailer for Sale

Friend wants me to buy his 1985 trailer from him.

what would you pay?

8 feet wide, and 26 feet long Tongue is 3 feet.
Ceiling is 6.5 feet

Says he pulled it with a 1/2 ton Dodge gas.

triple axle ... each with brake

3 new tires 225/75R15 8 ply

SHOWER / Toilet works
gas / electric fridgerator hasn't used in 2 years.
stove hasn't used in 2 years.
kitchen sink hasn't used in 2 years.
6 gallon water heater hasn't used in 2 years.
60 gallon water tank hasn't used in 2 years.
40 gallon brown and 40 gallon black water
gas tank removed.
tail lights work but not running lights
A/C works
20K heater
Steel frame
2 propane tanks
new portable 4,000 watt generator
jack broken
hitch with equalizer included
no leak in roof
everything in trailer comes with deal extra insulation / plywood / black plastic panels / 6 sheets plywood to finish interior
8 feet wide by 20 feet rubber floor mat ... new in wrapper
extra panels , fixtures , diamond plate etc.
Floor is one inch plywood did not see any rot.


He was trying to sell it for $4,000.

What should I offer him? Should I walk away?

Walk away. You can pick up NICE early to mid 90's trailers for 4 grand right now, and the price with the economy is coming down. Heck , I have a 2000 Wilderness I would seel you for 5500.00

This is suppose to be a toy hauler .... Custom built way back.

Where I am at ... California a REAL toy hauler 1999 25 feet will sell for $9000

Mis 1990's around $6000

2002 and newer 12,000

Do some checking on Craigs list for up here and compare, it might be worth your while to made a drive.

How many sleds do you think you could haul in there?

I figuire I can get 4 full size sleds plus one kiddie sled. Or 3 sleds easy.

Take the matress out the lower/upper bunk and put kiddie sled there.

Front of trailer space is 5 feet wide and 14 feet.
Back of trailer is 7.5 wide and 11 feet long.

So one sled forward to front slide rear to bath.
Second back up into space of first (area is 5 feet x 14 feet)
Third forward behind bunk beds then back fourth one up.

Buyer could put a sled deck on the rear and use it as a ramp to the top?
