Trail Tech Voyager KX450

I am toying with the idea of adding this to my 2010 KX450F... Anybody have experience with this? I have a 6" Rigid LED bar that will be going on first, and I'm wondering if anybody has done this already. Is there enough juice in the stator of that bike to run both? In a perfect world I would like heated grips too, but I doubt there is enough jam to run everything in a simple FI system.

Any input is appreciated.

You cant run the grip heater and light at the same time. Youll need a 3 way switch and run one at a time.

Im going to be running into the same issue. Headlight.....grip heaters.....boondocker box and afr gauge. I have a feeling I might have to run a battery.

I would think you can run your headlight and the trailtech voyager but Im sure it will be close to the limits!

the voyager breaks alot, they warrantied mine but I would never buy again. a 40 dollar temp gauge and a real gps is way better.

It just seems like a good deal to have a GPS speedo, temp guage, RPM all on one small screen...
I have one that I put in the billet protector.. I have logged 6000 miles of single track without issue.. I think the info it gives is priceless… but there are cheaper options…

The downside being that when it breaks you lose all those functions, and the all in one doesn't perform as well as a dedicated gps that gives you far better maps with a speedo. A separate temp gauge will only run you about $40. Another thing to consider is if you break down a dedicated gps can be taken with you instead of left on the bike.

Just playing the devils advocate here, it's good to consider different options.

It can be removed, but you would have to get to the connectors and disconnect all the wires first. A gps could just pop out of the mount. If Trail Tech had made a quick disconnect on the back or surface connectors on the mount then you could move it from your snowbike to your dirtbike or atv just by buying another mount and wires. If they had that and a color screen I would be looking at them more, but I am thinking seriously about the Garmin Zumo. More expensive, but I can use it on the snowbike the streetbike and the atv, plus it has a lot better screen.

Agreed for me though how much more crap will I have to remember when switching machines… I have an inreach that connects with my phone and for me it has some of the best maps directly on the phone among all of the other features…

Yeah, I thought about my phone too, but I don't know about exposing it to that environment while riding. The Zumo is hardened to take the shocks of riding and completely weatherproof. Nice thing is if you use the same gps on all your rides you get really familiar with it so you don't have to relearn going from dirt to street.

If anyone has good reasons to not get a Zumo I'd love to hear them. Feel free to talk me out of spending that much! I've seen pics of the 590 screen that look awesome in full daylight, plus blutooth for phone and music, and a touchscreen that is glove useable.

My Setup

This KTM 500 XC-W has a trail tech temp gauge, heat demon heated grips, TT ignition advance switch, and Dobeck fuel controller system right at your fingertips

Used a dremel to sink the temp gauge into the stock foam.

Notice the heated grip switch neatly hidden on the inside edge next to the stock KTM speedo.

What are you using for a power source on the 14 kx 450 ?

Only power source is the stock stator. Nothing aftermarket out there as far as I know. But it will power grips and headlight no problem as long as you only run one at a time(3 way switch)

Not sure. Im plugging into the power source behind the number plate on the blank plug just sitting there. One of those 4 wires! Ill have to figure it out soon too because Im splicing into in with the Bd box and my gauges.
