Anyone have a Trail Tank on their Pro RMK?? instead of packing extra gas on the Tunnel, i was thinking of getting a trail tank which holds 15.5 Gallons and skipping the extra gas Can setup. I had one on my Proclimb which worked out Great. what do you think??

I'm going to guess that most people will shake their head at this. It depends what kind of ridding you do though. The Pro isn't a trail sled and has major shortcomings as one (cooling, wind protection, track, etc). Most of the time I'm worn out before I'm out of fuel. I have a turbo so I consume a little more fuel too. I just throw on a 2.5 gal tank on the tunnel when needed. Plus, I often take the tank off while playing and fuel up on the way out. Twice all of last year.

The problem I have with a bigger fuel tank is that you will just add more weight to the sled that you likely don't need. Two more gallons is 13 lbs! Also, if the tank doesn't have bulk heads, it will swash around ruining your "flickability" ;)

The trail tanks are filled with fuel-cell foam so it does not slosh.

The tanks are high quality come in clear, which I wish the factory tank did.

I've had them and liked them very much.

BUT...For the 2015's... actually the 2013/14/15... you cant use the stock seat with this tank as it is built for the previous style, longer, seat.

Since you already have had a big tank and liked it...You probably use more gas than some. So... for your sled, with stock seat, Andretti is spot on with the spare can in those apps...

Trail tank makes a great one, with heavy duty bottom on it so it does not wear out from constant use like the Wallmart/Napa ones do. I'd get one of those or the 3 gallon slide on from Mountain Addiction.

If you want one? I'd consider trading you straight across for your stock tank, seat, and support for the trail tank and one of my seats ( have 3-4 color choices). Put your pump in the trail tank and bolt'r on.

I like the larger tank but most of the guys that did the long rides with me now have families and other obligations so the few times that it is nice to have, does not justify keeping it.

A tad off subject but personally I would like to see a carbon fiber tank with maybe one less gallon. That could easily be around 10lbs weight savings. And it would go where stock sleds go 95% of the time.

Add that to your wish list MH!

Thanks for the info guys. I didn't realize the the trail tank was for the longer seat. I dont want to change seats as well, it would be nice to have extra gas without carrying a can along. This is my first RMK, and i guess ill just pack a can if needed.

Thanks Rod
