Trail convert 03 vertical edge 700?

Hi. I have a 2003 RMK 700 vertical edge that I would like to set up for trail riding. What clutching and gearing changes should I make to make this sled more trail friendly and a little more fuel efficient?

No changes to clutching and gearing, assuming you were stock to begin with. You could stiffen up the front end for cornering by making sure you have the crossbar in and tightening up the large nuts that control the spring compression. You could also make sure that the limiter straps are in either the #2 or #3 hole. The #1 hole would be the strap let out as far as possible. You are not likely going to be able to improve the mileage, unless you ride only on icy trails and use scratchers. Your elevation determines your main jet and needle positions. Those can be fine tuned if you only trail ride in a narrow elevation range.

1 1/4 track will also help with trail riding.

1.25" track with 22/40 gearing, 40 pilot jets and drop needles to #2 from top or just install a Tempaflow is what I would do...If it has a Team secondary then the 719 helix really wakes it up...
