Track Swap Issues

I recently bought a 2005 Rev 151 and the previous owner had replaced the stock track with the 2007 track. My concern is, when decelerating (like riding down a steep trail) the track sounds as if it is rubbing on something. I have checked out the tunnel and I can't seem to find any evidence of the track rubbing anywhere??? I did notice that the tension strap on the front of the skid is REALLY tight.

Does anyone have any idea of what may be causing this or if I should be concerned?

Thanks.

isn't the track taller? 2.25 or 2.5? could be hitting the coolers if the drivers haven't been changed?

It's not racheting... just making a ton of noise. It could be hitting the coolers but It didn't really look like they had been "track polished" to me... It only happens going downhill though. Is it possable that the track would ONLY rub when going downhill off the gas???

Is there anything I can do to try to minimise this?
Would the straps being guitar string tight make this happen??? or maybe the old owner tightened them up as much as possable to minimise the rubbing?

someone has to know more about this than me :)

The 05 track is 2.25 and the 07 track is 2.4. This would cause your sound. Also the stock 05 tracks rubbed so it would not surprise me if the 07 track rubbed bad off throttle.

Thanks AIR... Sounds like you found the cause of the sound.
Is this something I need to worry about and look into fixing?
Like I said before, there doesn't look to be any real damage to the cooler at this point. What is the worst that could happen?

Ice build up

I rode a rev with this exact problem. It happened when there was ice build up. The only time i heard it was when you let off the throttle. Hope this helps

I have checked for ice buildup and It doesn't look like that is the case in my situation... but I will keep a close eye on it tomorrow for sure.
I wonder if there is there anything I can do with the suspension adjustments that would minimise this or help the situation???

Thats it. Its nothin major. If the last guy went one size smaller drivers which he'd half to get this track on cause of the pitch. Its nothing major to worry about. Just keep an eye on your front cooler and as long as things arnt getting bent out of shape and such. Dont worry about it.

I got rid of the stock track on my 07 and it was definitley rubbing at the top front edge of the tunnel. Actually rubbed off a head or two. The paddles are very stiff and do not seem to relax and have the tips bend back slightly like the other tracks. I bet you have a clearence issue.
