Track stands

Anybody got advice on a track stand that works for long tracks. Maybe even something you built yourself or just found that works really well?

well the other day when I was adjusting my track and suspension, I wrapped a tree strap around the rafters, an axle strap around the rear bumper and connected the two with a come-along, and just lifted it up.... bonus is you can go as high as you want/need, no matter the track length or hieght... but you need some sort of sky-hook.

i use a 4x4 that is notched just for storage. my buddy has 2 4x4's that are mounted together with 2x4's and has some feet for it made from 2x4's that method would be better for maintenance. cheap is the way to go:D

That's kinda cool.

What do you mean by fast reflexes? I had no prob :P twas still in the trailer when I did it.. so the whole unit, with the raised rear end was at a good working height.. well coulda been higher... but it was better than being on the ground.

Sounds like something I would do...figuring on being able to scram when my redneck contraption went TU.

Ahh ok.. heh my idea came in plenty handy when I tried to load the sled into my trailer... accidentally drove half way off the front... couldn't get it back ont he trailer... so I used the come along to winch and hold it as far back as it would go... backed into the garage... lifted the front end up.. drove the car/trailer forward... and the sled went back into place on the trailer.. that was a little hairy... never thought of unhooking the trailer, dropping the coupler to the ground and just drive it off.
