Track speed

What are you guys with good clutch set-ups getting for track speed? My XPX 154 gets between 37-40 in deep powder up hill. If the hill is real steep it will drop to 35. I put stock pin weight back in(don't know what grams). I have re-geared to 19 t on top and put in yellow/purple primary spring(I don't know what rate it is) just to see if it would make a diff. It did seem to be a slight improvement over stock but I should have more ? I have written down a few clutch set-ups that have been posted but still kind of feel like I am in the dark. I am trying to figure out this clutch stuff. Any help would be great. I like deep powder and run between 8000 and 10000 feet. Also has anyone pulled up the limiter strap one or two holes. How did it affect your (on top) ride.
Sorry for the long ramble.
Thanks, Doo

I'm getting around 40-42mph on a deep powder climb. The only thing I've done so far is add weight, and I did loosten the strap 1 hole. Didn't notice a whole lot of difference, but I'll leave it for a few more rides.

Tighten the strap.

Track speed is very subjective and not relevant IMO unless you are talking to someone on the same sled, same day, same terrain, same elevation, same weight, same track etc.

Generally anything in the 38-45 range for a stock 800 with a 154-163 x 16 is going to be good. Just the other day we watched our track speeds and found the speeds were similar between an 03 summit with 151x16 to the XP 154. However, on the GPS the XP was moving a little over 3 mph faster over the ground. Both sleds were indicating 40-42 mph on that particular section of hill.

On another note I had a sled that would pull 45-47 with a 151 x 15 and would not run in the powder with a sled with better track at 40-42.

What he said, thanks for saying what I have been thinking, this
? cant be answered.

Thanks for all the replies. At least I know I am in the ball park. I will continue to tweek a few things to get the speed up a little. Does anyone sell a clutch kit yet for high mountain powder yet? I have tried to order different clutch components but my dealer does not seem to know where to get them.
thanks, Doo

Best way to get what you want out of your clutching (for personal satisfaction) is to change one component at a time then test it in your own conditions. You might find that one compnent is the key, rather than changing mutiple components and finding that you didn't get the performance that you were looking for.

I`d second that...learn what to do and you`ll be better off. If you buy clutch kit from whoever for this sled, you`ll have to buy it again for the next and the next and the next. I`m working on mine now and doing one thing at a time. It sucks when it doesn`t run right and you don`t know what to do to fix it. Maybe a little more or less weight would fix things without having to spend alot of money at a dealership. The dealerships prices are about $100/hour now. So far i got twice the preformance out of my sled for $35.
